Party Time

Janet's going to be throwing a surprise (well, surprise for Angel) welcome home/victory party/thanks for giving blood and helping out for Angel at Caritas on Sunday afternoon (okay, technically it'll start in the evening, but I was figuring the post would go up early because, well, Sunday evening).

It will be open to all, yay, because we all need a good IC party after a plot-heavy week (which has been a BLAST, mind you, but we need a chance to let our characters cut loose and be silly after so much seriousness).

So. Question? Is anyone up for planning it with Janet IC?

I'm thinking, like, maybe a couple of other people so that this isn't something too huge. Just fun IC stuff with decorations and menu planning and things like that. Minimal prep time, maximum fun.

(And if anyone sufficiently OCD would like to make suggestions on OCD threads-- Well, come on, that's fun too, right?)

ETA: Eep. And we need someone to get him there without arousing suspicions too!

Well considering Veronica works there... she could help Janet plan it ICly.

Not like she has anything else to do this weekend... besides planning an impromteau birthday party for Nadia on Saturday night in the common room ;)

Rory has just wrapped Giles extraordnarily tightly around her finger. And he'd already do anything for Xander. Not to mention the soft spot for Marty (and his pine trees!) Giles would concur that the young 'uns need to cut loose, so if you want someone whom Angel would ever suspect...

He's doing it for Rory, Xander, Marty, et al, of course, not Angel, but he'd still do it. (And then melt quietly out the door. Perhaps to meet Jenny for dinner...)

Figure by Sunday Angel will be well enough to go out to dinner and such, but not so well that he should be doing all-nighters.

So, based on that, plausible folks to get him to Caritas would be Callisto, Logan, Veronica, Rory, and/or John. In other words, close friends who Angel would know are taking his current health into account when they ask him to go somewhere.

(Folks like Parker and Janet, for instance, are close but they're also practical. Angel would expect them to head-thwap him for wanting to go out at all, esp the night after he got released from FTEC. So them insisting on going somewhere would arouse his suspicions.)

Figure him to be kinda like someone recovering from major surgery. He'll be at the stage where the best thing his friends can do for him is not only get him that big drippy cheeseburger he's been craving, but also understand when he falls asleep at the table before dessert arrives.

(Not that Angel's craving a cheesburger since... Angel. But you get what I mean.)

Well, I don't know how you were planning on showing him regaining his strength, but--I think playing it by ear would probably work best. That way we can change things around if need be. But I was thinking around three days?

Three days works as a good ballpark. So he's got to take it easy through Wednesday, and depending on how the rest plays out he's back in class on Thurs.

Which is really very ordinary teenage girl of Lana, and makes sense. Underestimating herself, I mean. And I like that FH Lana is more vivacious than Lana was on the show.

I deliberately chose second season Lana since she was more open then - and less complaining and bitchy, frankly. And I think she's thriving in a place like Fandom where she can get out from under the whole "Poor Little Girl Whose Parents Were Killed in Front of Her" deal that she just could never escape in Smallville. :)

Put Parker where you need her. She's tired from this last week, and I might send her to Blue Cove for an overnight trip tomorrow, depending on what's going on in-game. but she's up for anything you need her to do for the party.

Yes! I actually liked second season Lana. And yes, the Poor Little Girl thing, and the pressure to be the perfect, good girl was a *whole* lot, and well, in Fandom, everyone's got totally different expectations of her. Which is cool, because she can do a lot more stuff.

*hugs* I may just have Parker help Janet keep an eye on Angel. And possibly use her incredibly good taste in food to have appetizer trays brought in. Everyone can pay for their own drinks, though. :)
