Operation Paparazzi

Background
Those of you who are familiar (or even quasi-familiar) with David Weber's Honor Harrington series may have noticed that the Honor in Fandom, like so many of others here, is a bit AU. This is chiefly in her pursuit of a relationship with Hamish, something that, in the books, didn't take place until given a blessing by White Haven's tragically crippled wife, Emily. Here in Fandom, those same rules didn't apply; after years of fighting what they felt, they finally gave in. At this point, few know about the relationship beyond Andrew LaFollet, head guardsman, and Hamish's brother, Willie. There have been hints and rumors about it in the newsfaxes from home (a part of canon that has been incorporated), and some (the other Guardsmen) suspect something is up. For their parts, Andrew and Willie operate under a "don't ask, don't tell" policy, with Andrew sometimes covering their tracks.

What's Going to Happen
More recently, Honor took a trip back to Grayson and Manticore, where politics caught up with her a bit. Both she and White Haven have been placed on half-pay status and put out to pasture for their outspoken attitudes toward the Conservative Association government. During her last trip back -- and unbeknownst to our hero -- a newsie by the name of Misha Brown made the decision to follow Honor back to whereever it was she was going, and find out "The Truth." Because he's not blessed enough to know how to travel the space-time contiuum, he apparently went MIA en route.

Next week, he's going to show up in Fandom. And he wants his story.

What You Can Do To Help
As some of you might have noticed, Hamish is making a quick appearance this weekend, basically to set the stage. He'll be leaving on Sunday night/Monday and Misha will appear shortly thereafter. To anyone who asks, he's working on a profile of Admiral Harrington, to be published at some later date. He'll likely use this line to pump any volunteers for information, to earn their confidence.

If you're a student or former student of Honor's you can help push this little bit along: If you see Honor and Hamish out and about, feel free to say hello. When Misha shows up, you can either divulge that information or not -- whatever best suits your character. Afterward, you can "get a bad feeling about this" or think you gave the guy some great information or...you get the point.

There are a couple of you I've already spoken with; if anyone else would like to participate, or have any additional ideas/comments, feel free to drop a comment below. I'll send an e-mail to follow up.
