Rikku Plot: I Fought Reality and Reality Won
So, Rikku's got a personal plot going on for April that involves her trying to fix something from her canon that she's decided needs to be fixed. Something major, that involves planes of existence and bringing someone back from the sort-of-but-not-really-dead. She doesn't know how to do it and she's going to make something up to try. That's totally a recipe for success, right? I don't know how this could possibly go horribly wrong!
HOW IT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG
On Tuesday, April 10th - around 1:15 pm, while Hermione is in class - Rikku is going to try her makeshift attempt. And fail miserably.
When the dust settles, there's going to be a fist-sized hole next to the wall, a foot or so above her bed. Not a hole in the wall - a hole in the fabric of temporal time-space itself. Just a little one!
Rikku is going to panic, flail, and panic some more. She can't tell anyone ... they'll make her stop what she was trying! And maybe she can fix the ritual and try again! Maybe she can fix the hole and no one will ever have to know it was there!
So she's going to staple a pillow over the hole so that Hermione won't notice it and Crookshanks won't get sucked into it. No, seriously. Hey, her half of the room is already decorated funny, maybe Hermione will think it's an Al Bhed thing!
WHAT THAT MEANS FOR FANDOM
Well, reality's a bit iffy, that's all. There's a hole and it's making everything a bit ... bendy.
From around 1:30 pm on Tuesday until Thursday evening/night, time TBD, little bits of bendy reality are going to leak out of the hole. There will be unstable pockets that have serious time-space issues.
Example: the end of the third floor hallway might have a stretch of ten feet where time slows down to a crawl. Once you're through, time returns to normal again. After an hour, things return to normal.
Example: for an entire afternoon, there's a section of the lobby where stepping into it makes you five inches taller.
And so on. It's the House of Mirrors effect. The integrity of all four basic spatial dimensions (length! width! height! time!) has been shot to hell. Things are wobbly.
Nothing's broken, exactly, but things are warped and fubared.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Nothing. If you don't want to be in this plot, it's easy enough to opt out - your character could easily get through both days without ever seeing any temporal weirdness.
If you want to be in on this, and hopefully some people will, then it's also easy enough to opt in. All you have to do is pick a place and time and find something weird with it. Or join in someone else's post of "Hey, I'm trying to feed the ducks, so why are my knees four times as big as they should be? That's not normal, right? Do yours do that?"
So this post is really a heads-up. You don't need to sign up or not sign up, so there isn't even going to be any interesting OCD. (Although if you're definitely in or out and want to say so, please do!)
Comments, questions, clarifications, and cookies, on the other hand, are totally welcome. Especially cookies.
EDIT: This post always said "Tuesday, April 10th," as clearly April 12th is a Thursday. Anybody believing it ever said otherwise is wrong and probably a mutant Commie bastard freak who is trying to control your mind.

(I did manage to get the 100%-in-a-single-play, with heavy abuse of walkthroughs, because Getting Tidus Back was the whole damn reason I bought X-2 in the first place.)

So then I tried to play it again, and was less motivated to get 100%, and then I got to the Aeons and wanting to throw things at them and. Yeah. I haven't touched it since.

... You're not the only one who can sit and watch cutscenes over and over and over again.

It bothers me that you can only by the top-level FMVs in Luca. I want some of the in-game scenes, damn you, Square!

So, once upon a time, Sony or whoever does that stuff were awesome dudes and sent me a demo disk of various games. I wasn't very interested in any of them, except one in particular; and this game is called Viewtiful Joe. Now, I probably would have not paid any interest to that game either, except that my best friend is soooooo obsessed with it, and seeing as we have similar interests, well... I decided to check it out.
The catch being, it just so happened THAT PARTICULAR GAME had a bug in it that made your memory card go NO U and bzzzt.
The even bigger catch is that I had gotten a thing in the mail a few days prior to that stating not to play VJ on that demo disk because of said glitch.
You have no idea how much I hate myself for that, to this very day.

Because: FUCK.

Moral of the story, kids: Just say no to demo disks.

I am unclean, darling. Do you see these bindings? They indicate that I am your captive. You may use corporal punishment if I transgress your rules, for no one else has the effect on me that you do. Shall we proceed now to the chorus?
