I suppose technically this might go under magic, but the character's own circular logic means that she and everyone else around her totally dismiss the idea even though it's a completely reasonable explanation within the confines of the universe they're in, so I'm putting it here and there's NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT! But, yes: Firekeeper can speak with beasts of any kind.

Also, growing up wild meant her senses had to be damn sharp in order for her to survive, so her sense of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch are all well above normal human average, but still within human limitations, if that makes sense? She's also quite strong, see hand-to-hand re: taking on people like, twice her size.
