April 11th-13th! ZOMGIHAVEAKID WEEKEND!

That right. It's time for all the alternative-future-kids of your cracked out characters to invade Fandom.

On Saturday April 11, a rift in the time-space dimensional space will occur and the offspring of your choice will appear in the park.

They will then go off in search of their mommies & daddies. Or their daddies and daddies. Or mommies and mommies. Chaos will ensue

On Monday, April 13th in the evening the kids will return to their own time and space and Fandom will breathe a collective sigh of relief. (If it's anything like last two years, I seriously suggest the use of kleenex.)

The important details/rules:
* You will get one journal for your character's "family". Multiple children can be had but they must be in this one journal. If your "child" is with another character in the game you must share the journal with that character.

* You character may have children with:
a)another character in the game
b)another character in your canon
c)with an anonymous person that you do not want to define or they can be reproduced asexually. (Hey. It could happen)
d) You may also have a child with a character that is outside your canon who is not represented in FH. HOWEVER, if the Canon does have a character within FH you must have their permission first.

* If your child is with another character in the game please make sure you have their permission first before applying.

* Dor is a sexy beast. (Just seeing if you are paying attention.)

* An application post will be posted and all potential kidlings will need to be approved by our illustrious administrative team. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 9TH!

* No children allowed in the adult, teenage or tween age range.

* The plot is open for students, townies and teachers alike.

* There is a cap of two children per character but it is not double counted.

In other words:

Worf and Jamie's muns decide they should have two kids: Rufus Xavier and Rafaella Gabriela Sasparilla. Now since these kids are between two IG characters, each parent can take one of the kids towards their two kid total leaving them with one more slot to use. So now Jamie can have a kid with Dor named Albert Andreas Armadillo (no relation to the Sasparillas.)

Is Prom still the night before this, that is, April 10?

And I'm assuming it's not open to Alumni?

[identity profile] rocksthescarf.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, Prom is April 10th.

It's not open to alumni since the kids will be staying on the island only but if a student wants to have a kid with an alumni parent then that's just fine :D

Gotcha! I half-figured that when I thought about it, but wanted to be sure.

Awwwww, I was looking forward to seeing the Hyperion get overrun by wee AU children :D

So, provided that all the kids are with someone IG, a character can have four kids?

That's Easter weekend, so I'm going to have RL commitments. WOE. :-(.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Me too. I'm thinking pre-play, I guess.

Yeah. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that problem wasn't considered, but I know other holidays have been ignored in scheduling things so it's only fair this time it's one that I had plans for.

Oh, dude, that's Easter weekend?

Looks like I'm going to end up missing out on huge chunks of this one, after all.

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'll prolly be AFK for a good chunk too, but last year preplay/SP worked out for me.

I have a lot of sympathy for the poor Canadians whose Thanksgiving is never considered now. :)
raspberryturk: (D:)

[personal profile] raspberryturk 2009-03-19 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Never, ever considered omg! We like Homecoming and turkey, but they don't go so well together. D:

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-19 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, yeah, that was my first thought. "Now I know how the Canadians feel!"

And at least it spills into Monday, which is a normal day, at least from here?

[identity profile] weefeetbigboots.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
And there's Saturday, too. And I dunno about your plans but my Easter tends to be an excuse for my family to drink wine and my mom to try to force me to eat some part of a dead animal for a couple hours on Sunday. (But clearly we are not particularly religious people.) So I'm not all that worried.

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm definitely not all that worried, but basically I was going to be AFK/email-only from about noon Saturday until Sunday after dinner. This is the first year my daughter's been big enough to maybe make it through church and my mom has plans to exploit it, possibly with pink and frills.

...I think Ghanima hates me already.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww! Yay!

I could be gone for the whole weekend and Monday, no way to know yet. I hope not. Which kinda sucks, but, well, I should be back for the big Monday night good-bye live. That's one of the important bits. :>

Yay, Dances Cause Babies! But ack, Easter weekend. I can see I'm not the only person who'll miss at least most of one day because of that.

Think of it this way: it's really no different than "I'm traveling that weekend/I have plans/it's a holiday in another country." There are only so many weekends, you know?

YAY KIDS. *CLINGS*

Okay, re: Easter: It's one day. We get three for this event, which is really more than we get for like, anything else, and I remember how weekends at the end of the school year get limited with finals week and plots. There's preplay and an excuse to SP your weeetinies longer.

Also, Easter means we can have an Easter egg hunt for the kids. I vote Deadpool dresses up like a bunny.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, if it can be moved back, I'd be thrilled. If it can't, I guess it can't.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
...This is going to end with me making my yearly family tree, isn't it?
future_sandworm: (worried)

Oh, scary! Lots of wee Atreides!

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
There's never going to be a weekend for anything that works for everyone unless people give up their real lives completely.

I know that there were at least five or six of us who mostly missed out on weetiny last weekend because of real life obligations and the Canadians routinely miss out on Homecoming because it generally falls on their Thanksgiving.

Okay, so! Sean's going to have two kids. Can they be out of two journals -- as one is being shared with another person in-game -- or do I still have to do them out of one journal?
withoutverona: (OOC unscripted)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-19 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if it came through, but that's what I was trying to say. It's unfortunate in that it looks like Easter will effect more people than, say, Canadian Thanksgiving, but no one can do everything and, as you said, there are only so many weekends.
atreideslioness: (OOC!)

[personal profile] atreideslioness 2009-03-19 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)

I want this. SO, so so so much it isn't even funny.
atreideslioness: (don't look back)

[personal profile] atreideslioness 2009-03-19 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Dune Encyclopedia does say she has seven, and it was official canon until wee little Brian decided to 'expand' his father's universe... *cackles madly*

For the sake of my sanity, however, there will not be seven spawns of Ghani running around that weekend. As funny and trauma-inducing as that would be.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Which, actually, I always wonder why that has to happen. And Easter impacts more people than just another random weekend in April.

But like I said: thrilled if moved. I'll deal if it can't be.
future_sandworm: (Default)

[personal profile] future_sandworm 2009-03-19 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
And of course I have to compensate for Leto's lack of canon kids, although I'm not sure he's going to appreciate it. ;)

But did Brian add or remove any Ghani kids?

[personal profile] atreideslioness 2009-03-19 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No idea! The newest books were making my poor brain hurt, so I quit reading them. He booted it from 'official' canon, but I don't think he actually changed anything relating to Ghani.

Aw! Leto will be a wonderful daddy!
likethegun: (i'm smiling to the left)

[personal profile] likethegun 2009-03-19 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
If they're with two different parents, yeah, they can be out of two journals.
