Upcoming Event: Fandom Pride!

It's that time of year again, folks! Time for Fandom's third annual Pride, to be held on June 29th! I'm cutting it close this year, but look, it's actually during Pride Month! Just like the last two years, everybody is welcome to attend and participate in the festivities as the island dedicates itself to a celebration of love and identity.

The main event is all going to be condensed to one day, with a parade happening on Saturday, June 29th, followed by a picnic in the park afterwards. Anybody on the island is welcome to ready their best rainbows and participate in the parade, or simply come out to enjoy solidarity and acceptance and unity and defiance. There will be minor OCD in this post, mostly to get a feel for numbers, though like every year registration in advance isn't necessary if on Saturday morning you wake up with the urge to throw everyone and their puppies at the parade anyway. Bonus points for puppies. Puppies in rainbows make everything better.

The picnic, also as per usual, is going to have room for booths, should anybody want to give away cupcakes or safe sex pamphlets or do fundraisers, there will be OCD here for you to stake your claims, but you can also just show up and set something up in the picnic post if your heart so desires!

As every year, I'm also opening the floor for anybody else who might want to contribute an event of any sort to come forward and do just that! Does your character want to run a pancake breakfast, some manner of sporting event, a LGBT+ film festival, drag show, or what-have-you? We'd love to have it! This stuff will be up to individual players to post at any point over the weekend, and the OCD thread for this can be used both for coordinating and making sure nobody doubles up on any awesome ideas you might have! If you're planning on doing something like this, please lay claim to it in the OCD before going ahead and posting that weekend, thanks!

Whether it's just a suggestion for something to include in the ocd (maybe this picnic DESPERATELY needs a ball pit), or something you'd like to contribute yourself (you want to cook? Or run a face-painting table?), here's the place to share!

IDEK this is not really a question so much as a suggestion or something but there's a lot of characters on the island who don't have any real reason to know what Pride is. Any chance of, like, flyers (even just moddable ones) going up explaining that? IDEK. Nina's a nerd enough on the internet to know this, but Carter's just likely to be all 'oh look, how sweet, a rainbow celebration! are they proud of their rainbows here?' XD;

My mental Tip has informed me that she is going to wander around with just, like, a giant backpack full of various flags for as many identities as she can get her hands on.

(This is maybe slightly influenced by the woman who ran up to my friends and I at the DC Pride parade and gave me a hug because our giant ace flag was the first ace rep she'd seen that day.)
