Update on the cure

Okay, after brainstorming it out yesterday it looks like the solution that will work is Al's alchemy + Halliwell spell + Ingredient from the UK gang + The blood of Chosen Ones = Healed vampire.

What we still need to determine:

1) What ingredient the UK gang is getting.
2) Who makes the Slayer = Chosen One connection and sets the blood drive in motion.

For #2 I think it'd be hilarious if it was Janet, just so she could have a headdesky moment of "Oh, great, now we actually need all those stupid Chosen Ones." but I don't know if she'd be up for that.

Discuss. =)

Just a random suggestion from my corner, what if we made what the UK gang had to get something more scientific in nature rather than magical in nature?

I only say this because everything else in the cure is sort of mystical in nature (I know that Alchemy is a science, but it's still pretty mystical) and it might be interesting to have a cure that combines science and magic.

Just a thought.

But what scientific things would we have to get in the UK that wouldn't be available in the states?

You know, other than the good Cadbury chocolate, Jaffa cakes, Yorkies . . . .

I'm making myself hungry.

Janet would totally be up for that and regretting not letting everyone put Chosen One on their stupid library card apps so we could just find them easily. Or at least griping about it a lot. (Not that she'd want the policy to change, mind you, but she'd keep a list.) I expect that at least the rest of the library wenches will be mocking her over this.

Just very relieved that today is not when that will happen. :) Energy? What's that? Am I supposed to be awake today?

*shrugs* Just a thought. If there's already an idea in place, I wouldn't want to try to upset things that have already been planned.

Yes! Angel will be healed by the power of chocolate and sweeties. No poision is powerful enough to resist the yummy goodness of a Jaffa cake!

Don't you get Jaffa Cakes in the US? I heard you didn't get Walker's crisps, but...that's just horrible!

[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on the store for Jaffas, but you can get them.

The lack of crisps though - GAH. I am in mourning for the Chicken & Thyme flavored ones. Woe.

Actually, my local grocery shop sells Jaffa Cakes. The problem is that I crack up laughing every time I walk by them.

I heard on an interview with Dave Gahan on Radio 2 that he gets them imported, but they're mega expensive, but then he's a famous rock star so he can probably afford them.

*snuggles* You can share my pillow, if you want.

Janet's going to be doing research today prior to the break-in to SC with the info she got from Angel's chart during her clinic shift last night, but I expect that it will be fruitless and all that so as not to ruin the plotline, FYI.

I'm not sure if y'all decided to go with having Anders be the one to suggest Alphonse as the alchemist, but if we are, I just need to know where to put him when to make the suggestion or offer to go find Al, and what setup I'll need to give him first. He knows the basic situation, but that's about it.

UK ingredient I'd suggest from that list: the Bezoar, and/or unicorn horn shavings. Probably available very expensively in Knockturn alley for the second, and also expensively and hard-to-find at Diagon Alley for the bezoar.

Giles is doing the Killer-of-the-Dead diagnosis? Cool.

I don't *think* we have any Chosen Ones on the trip with us, but let me check... wait. Sydney Bristow, if she *is* on the trip like she's supposed to be (though she has yet to check in) is over here in England, and Nadia Santos definitely is. Although their status as Chosen Ones has not been revealed in play, as far as I know, but Veronica might know something about Nadia. The players' calls, I think, on whether that gets revealed now.

List of possible Chosen Ones:
Anakin (MIA)
Isabel (incognita)
Harry Potter (still playing?)
Charmed Ones
Nadia
Sydney
Any Slayers available from other realities

Although I suppose you could get less picky, and start grabbing anyone who's unique and include them too. Daniel, for being a former Ascended, and Cordy, for being a Seer, might work for that too.

[identity profile] upforachase.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Cordy is phoning Bridge today to see if he can come be psychic with Angel, so maybe he can determine what ingredient the UK gang needs?

Y'know, Kara Thrace is sure gonna grow up to be of particular interest to the Cylons.

Just sayin'.

Sydney is definitely a Chosen One, I think, since, heyhey, she's actually called that in canon. Nadia is called "the Passenger". She might work in a pinch, but I don't know how closely she'd match the criteria.

Also, as far as I know, no one is actually aware IG of Nadia being the passenger. . . except POSSIBLY Syd, since she seems to know a little bit about Rambaldi's prophesies and has heard Nadia reference one. . . .

Yeah. Our IG stuff is nearly as crazy as the canon is.

and finally? Should they figure out somehow that Nadia might count, she'd be VERY leery about anything involving drawing blood or needles.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Then again, none of us would ICly know that at this point -- unless maybe Sharon "inexplicably" suggests it?

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm liking the Bezoar and the unicorn shavings. Maybe we can even find a leftover draught from the philosopher's stone!

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I was saying this the other day in chat when people didn't know what they were, the US really is missing out! *clings to her Jaffas*
demonbelthazor: (So pretty)

[personal profile] demonbelthazor 2006-03-06 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
*waves* Half human, half demon, with a soul, not supposed to really exist, very unique. ;)

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
We're actually getting a recipe for that from a book here in the UK, probably. Although if you want Bridge & Cordy to narrow it down from a longer list, that might be one way to do it.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That might be the only way to make it work. Or D'Anna, now that she's back.

You should join the Whitby Gothic Weekend forum they have whole threads about them, and about how good the cherry and rasberry flavours ones are (but they aren't proper Jaffa Cakes, they are v good though) *has 3 Orangitangs*
