Update on the cure

Okay, after brainstorming it out yesterday it looks like the solution that will work is Al's alchemy + Halliwell spell + Ingredient from the UK gang + The blood of Chosen Ones = Healed vampire.

What we still need to determine:

1) What ingredient the UK gang is getting.
2) Who makes the Slayer = Chosen One connection and sets the blood drive in motion.

For #2 I think it'd be hilarious if it was Janet, just so she could have a headdesky moment of "Oh, great, now we actually need all those stupid Chosen Ones." but I don't know if she'd be up for that.

UK ingredient I'd suggest from that list: the Bezoar, and/or unicorn horn shavings. Probably available very expensively in Knockturn alley for the second, and also expensively and hard-to-find at Diagon Alley for the bezoar.

Giles is doing the Killer-of-the-Dead diagnosis? Cool.

I don't *think* we have any Chosen Ones on the trip with us, but let me check... wait. Sydney Bristow, if she *is* on the trip like she's supposed to be (though she has yet to check in) is over here in England, and Nadia Santos definitely is. Although their status as Chosen Ones has not been revealed in play, as far as I know, but Veronica might know something about Nadia. The players' calls, I think, on whether that gets revealed now.

Any Slayers available from other realities

Although I suppose you could get less picky, and start grabbing anyone who's unique and include them too. Daniel, for being a former Ascended, and Cordy, for being a Seer, might work for that too.

Y'know, Kara Thrace is sure gonna grow up to be of particular interest to the Cylons.

Then again, none of us would ICly know that at this point -- unless maybe Sharon "inexplicably" suggests it?

That might be the only way to make it work. Or D'Anna, now that she's back.

It'd be more IC for D'Anna, I think. Maybe. Possibly. Which is all, of course, assuming they want in on it.

Sydney is definitely a Chosen One, I think, since, heyhey, she's actually called that in canon. Nadia is called "the Passenger". She might work in a pinch, but I don't know how closely she'd match the criteria.

Also, as far as I know, no one is actually aware IG of Nadia being the passenger. . . except POSSIBLY Syd, since she seems to know a little bit about Rambaldi's prophesies and has heard Nadia reference one. . . .

Yeah. Our IG stuff is nearly as crazy as the canon is.

and finally? Should they figure out somehow that Nadia might count, she'd be VERY leery about anything involving drawing blood or needles.

I know that Mac is dealing with the researchy stuff on Nadia, I have no idea how much she's supposed to have found out yet though, she may or may not have even worked out who it's related to.

Hmmm. Trying to figure out what Mac would actually be able to access online? Not easy to do, since most of it would be classified. But she might be able to figure out it's referring to Nadia if she manages to get any info on the various names at the bottom of the list.

ANy idea where your sis is OOC? She's the only one unaccounted for on our trip, as not having checked in or grabbed a hotel room space yet.

I catch her online sometimes during the day. She's got a mega-busy schedule, I know, and some RL issues she's still working out, which would probably explain the lack of presence. I'm pinging her now to see if I can get an answer on what's up.

I'm liking the Bezoar and the unicorn shavings. Maybe we can even find a leftover draught from the philosopher's stone!

ANd if anyone can figure out a way to get Phoenix Tears, that would be awesome.

We can always find the draught from the philosopher's sotne and the phoenix tears and have them be fakes!

Plus we can use Pip's smuggling connections to get them back to the states.

I think there was talk of Lana being a Chosen One from that whacked S4 Smallville plot.

Yep, Lana could be considered a Chosen One - from whatever bizarre prophecy that was. She just needs to find out about Angel and then be around somewhere where people are talking about Chosen Ones so she can say she overheard Lex et al saying that about her.

I have to admit that that plot is the reason I stopped watching Smallville cause it was so out there... but if you can stick Lana on the second floor later, I'm going to have V down there to exposit information to Anders for plotty purposes. That will at least get her to find out about Angel and then we can figure out the Chosen Ones thing later.

Honestly? Haven't seen 90% of Season 4 so I've only heard about the horrors of it. I did catch part of one episode where Jason and his mom and Lex or Lionel talked about Lana being the Chosen One. I'd never have thought of it if this plot hadn't come up. ;)

And yeah, I can *handwavey* some reason for her to go down to the second floor at some point. ;)

As for Chosen Ones, I guess the handling of that depends both on how people would know about who is and isn't a CO, plus how the COs in question feel about outing themselves if they aren't yet.

Yup, see above, re: Sydney & Nadia. I think including Lana and MacLeod and Bel are good ideas too. After all, the original cure *did* call for an entire Slayer's-blood-volume, though I don't think that's as much as Angel sucked down. heh.

We know the cure's supposed to be enough to kill a Slayer, though obviously Buffy survived and Angel did okay. So that gives us some wriggle room around the concept of "A lot."
