Blood Drive of the Chosen Ones
First, my disclaimer: I'm trying to draw information out of this and this planning post, plus various other assorted comments made while chatting with people. That means that if I am in error on anything, please let me know. I may not have remembered everything correctly.
Okay! Now for the real info! I am a great big ol' OCD freak and have offered to run the Blood Drive of the Chosen Ones. This means several things.
1. I need Chosen Ones who are willing to donate blood to the cause. People who have already volunteered themselves (OOC) are: Duncan MacLeod, Agatha Sparks, Phoebe Halliwell, Lana Lang, Nadia, Belthazor
People who have been listed off (again, OOC) for possible inclusion are: Anakin (okay, MIA, but is there any way we can mention him because it's Anakin and we should), Isabel, Harry Potter, Paige Matthews, Piper Halliwell, Nadia, Sydney Bristow, Daniel Jackson, Cordelia Chase, Kara Thrace, Artie, Spider-Man, Professor Tick (see below for a sudden brainstorm on that one), and Dr. Tommy Oliver.
Professor Tick? I'd say you could maybe consider yourself a Chosen One for purposes of the plot as you're a superhero. It might be that we'd try to draw blood, but we couldn't get a needle through your skin because of your nigh-invulnerability, if you want to have a comedic moment with this. Just a random thought I'm throwing out there. Feel free to disagree, agree, or throw alien fish at random passers-by.
The main thing here is this: Is there anyone who would like to donate blood who could be considered a Chosen One who has not been named above? I want to include everyone who is interested, so please speak up. We will find a way to get you included, whether or not you know you're a Chosen One IC.
2. We need lots of blood. There are approximately 10 pints (~5 liters) of blood in the human body (+/- a pint or two, iirc). This means that we can take one pint per Chosen One in the blood drive and if we have more than 10 pints of blood? We label it "Killer of the Dead Antidote" and shove it in the freezer until it's needed again. (Who knows if it will be? Consider it an IC precaution.) Now, I'm arriving at needing approximately the amount of blood contained in the human body by presuming that Angel refuses to take the blood of a Slayer because it would kill the Slayer.
In order for the blood loss to be fatal, he would have to take around one-third of the total amount suddenly. However, Janet doesn't know the, ahem, sucking capabilities of vampires and wants to have at least two-thirds of the total blood volume of the human body on hand at a minimum. Our current set of volunteers gives us six; we have our minimum, but we could use more easily enough. Let's all hear it for being overcautious.
3. How are we going to find the Chosen Ones?
A. We will be doing posters. Yes, posters. Can some kind soul with Photoshop-Fu make a better poster than I could? Otherwise I'll try my hand at it tonight.
B. Janet is going to go talk to Dean Zordon and he is going to be reviewing the files of faculty and staff who may be Chosen Ones. Then he will page them over the PA and ask them to report to the clinic. Bwahaha.
C. Janet is going to find Bridge and ask him to do his *fingerwiggle* aura thing.
This means that even if your character does not know if his or her Chosen One status, we can snag you and ask you to donate blood.
4. Janet will be running the blood drive. This means I'm going to be putting her in the clinic to draw blood, test it, and Bridge will (hopefully) be double-checking the auras of the Chosen Ones. What else does this mean? Two things. First, I will need to godmod your blood and state that there's some special quality to it. I can be vague, or I can be specific, depending on what you want me to do. Second, if any of the other clinic staff want to help out with the blood drive, they can (and are more than welcome to!), but this way we have Janet taking blood donations and are letting the person on clinic duty be on-call for anything else that's come up during that time.
5. The Chosen One blood gets mixed with the Bezoar and fed to Angel. Um. Can we deal with this later? I think may brain just fried. :)
ETA: 6. Anyone who isn't a Chosen One that would volunteer if at all possible can do so. We'll have Bridge check your aura and Janet test your blood, and we'll politely-but-firmly turn you down. But hey, so? Fun RP!
