Upcoming plot!

January 31 and February 1-2, Monsta and I will be running a personal, game wide plot. Meaning, a non admin plot which will be open to pretty much everyone. The more people that join in, the better this plot will run. It's fairly large scale so it's going to take a bit of organising and we're going to need some volunteers to help us out. There should hopefully be plenty for people to play with so grab a seat and watch the teal deer gather as I start explaining what's going to happen.

The plot

On January 31, Molly and Cameron will accidently wake up creepy shadowy creatures which have been dormant for years. The following two days these creatures will be attacking anyone who signs up for the plot. Attacking however is a relative word. Unlike trolls and zombies, these creepy shadows are non corporeal and there is no way to fight back at them. When they attack, they take a bit of solidity (which is so a word, shut up) away from their victim. Slowly, the people affected will start to fade and become ghost like until they threaten to disappear. On February 2, we're going to need people to research what exactly is going on and find a way to get rid of the creepy shadows. This will happen the same evening. (We have a plan in mind, but it will adapt depending on how many people sign up.)

We're not going to give away all the details of the plot as we would like that to be revealed over time. Hopefully this is enough info for you to decide whether or not you want to sign up. I'm going to explain exactly what the different things are that you can sign up for. If you only want to play with one aspect of the plot, then that's fine. You can get attacked, but decide to not be in the finale. Or you can be in the finale and not be attacked before that. Or you can just do research to help out your friends. It's all up to you (you can even not participate). So here comes the list!

I want to be attacked!

It is pretty much what it says. If you sign up for this then during the last two days of the plot, you will have creepy shadows trying to eat away your solid form. You can ask for NPC creepy shadows to play with you or you can NPC your own attackers. That's totally up to you! Just know that after every attack, you will be less solid. You'll start being unable to hold things and people will start seeing through you or even pass through you if you want. Please note that these are the kinds of attacks that no one can fight back against (unless you think there is something in your canon that would allow you to, in which case please contact us and discuss it with us first). Only the people who are getting attacked by the creepy shadows will be able to see them (unless you're a magic type person from a canon that would allow you to sense/see them).

If you want to push this to the limit and actually disappear completely for a while, we might allow that to happen but you'll have to contact Monsta or me about it first. No disappearances allowed unless you have talked it through with us.

I want to do research!

If you want to be part of the smart guys and figure out what exactly is behind this, then this is the group for you. You can get attacked and do research, no problem. Just as long as you're aware that you might not be able to open books if you're affected too badly! We'll reveal the information that you will be finding out to you all in a locked post later on.

Give me the finale!

The research types will find out how to get rid of the creepy shadows. There will be a big finale where you will be facing the creepy shadows, get attacked but in the end good will win. Hopefully, anyway! You don't have to be in any of the previous groups to take part here. The only requirement for the finale is that you are online and available in the evening of February 2. Please, do not sign up if you can't be around as other players will be depending on you. If anything unexpectedly comes up? Shoot us an email.

I want to be a creepy shadow!

We're going to need help with this. The idea is that the shadows pop up in individual posts (or anywhere else) and attack everyone who signs up. You don't have to be available 24/7. We know this plot is being run during the week so it's going to be a bit harder to coordinate, but we'll figure it out. (I see OCD posts and links in my future.) Anyway, if you want to help out behind the screens, just sign up and state your availibility!

*takes a deep breath* And I think that is everything I can say right now. If you have any questions, concerns or remarks then feel free to ask them in the appropriate OCD thread!

ETA: Deadline for sign ups is midnight Sunday, January 28. If you have any problems and concerns that can't be addressed here, then feel free to grab either Monster (FandomMonster) or me online (crunchwolfcam) or send us an email.

Begin Query:

Schrodinger = Recording fight scenes with his Nazi Video Camera of Evil = Y/N

Schrodinger = Attempting to obtain samples from the shadowy creatures = Y/N

End of Line

What? I just watched Tron! I'm in a Tronny mood!

Hmm...

Well, I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility that Doc could invent a way to capture incoporeal non-dimensional things (he did invent Schrodinger, after all), the fact that he'd have to be attacked sounds like it'd be too much of a headache, especially if you factor in Schrodinger's weird abilities into a psuedo-physics technobabble nightmare.

'Cause Schrodinger's abilities, at least the way that I'm playing them, work because he is able to realize the possibility of him being somewhere else not dead, or not shot. Which means, theoretically, he could just realize the possibility of him being somewhere else, with all his substance back.

And I'm not sure whether that would gel with your plans or not. So maybe it'd be just easiest if passed on this one?

I wish I knew more about Schrodinger's canon.

Schrodinger is... complicated. Playing him sometimes gives me a headache trying to figure out how certain things affect him.

Well... hmm, I've had him use a couple of devices that detect supernatural type things in FH in the past. Maybe he would be able to detect that something weird was going on?

Do the people become visibly see through? Like, start to become transparent? Because if nothing else, Schro will probably at least start documenting that. And if he somehow catches wind of a big final showdown deal, he'd just show up on the sidelines and record it from the shadows.

And yeah, that's the idea. People will start to become almost ghost like. I have no problems with Schrodinger just filming that or the finale if you prefer him not to get attacked.

That, to me, sounds like it might be easiest and best. I'll see if there's anyone on the "attack me!" list Schrodinger might be likely to follow and ask permission.

I'd love to volunteer Peter to get attacked, but @#$% knows how the repete would affect him around the shadowy types. Since it's your bad guys, I figured I'd ask =)

Hmmm, we could just go on the fact they aren't human or from this dimension and say that Peter's powers wouldn't come into play. If that is acceptable to you.

Would people who are becoming incorporeal be solid to eachother?

Do you have an idea of what rate the transformation progresses?

Huh - and I just thought of a question!

How far will the shadowed not being able to affect physical things/solid objects extend? Once people start being able to walk through them, will floors hold them? Or furniture? Or can we mod this as we choose for maximum comic effect/maximum distress to the character?

Is this something that Luna would be able to see? (I'm guessing not, but not really sure here.)

Also, it's just their bodies that fade or the things they have constantly with them, ie their clothing and in Luna's case, the wand she keeps behind her ear. Or would they all start to be a problem once one begins to fade?
