School Assemblies: Last Minute Fun!

Originally this weeks assembly was going to be tied to the academic conference. That has been cancelled, but fear not! I have a plan.

This week's assembly will feature a play. Not just any play. A play written by The Tick. And it will need actors in it. Not just any actors. Actors who will be unwittingly chosen to perform in the play due to some sort of Fandom strangeness to be determined. (I have a couple ideas but just need a go-ahead with them. I'll know for sure tomorrow.

I will be providing a very loose outline for three acts (how each act should begin and end, basically) in the comments of the assembly post on Thursday night and the volunteers will make up everything else from there. Dialogue, character development, etc.

If you would like for your character to be unwittingly volunteered, we'll be needing maybe 3-5 characters in each act if things work out right. Characters can appear in more than one act, of course, and

So, that's the very rough plan at the moment. Sorry about the last-minuteness but I'm just now getting my life back from the horrors of work, otherwise this probably would have gone up a day ago.

Characters needed: Two siblings, a monster. More characters can be added.

Sign Peter up! If we're supposed to make requests I daresay he could be a sibling.

Peter shall be a sibling. His name is Diego. He carries bagpipes.

The bagpipes are what make it awesome.

Oh, and he is sibling to Naomi who is playing Francesca.

Definitely sign Naomi up for this, I'd say she'd be a sibling if anything.

Naomi is playing Francesca, sibling to Peter Petrelli's Diego. She can juggle. I do not know if Naomi can juggle, so it may be a "Naomi juggles poorly but we pretend she's awesome at it" thing.

Sign Seely up!

Because he's a very grr arrghy monster. Really.

Seely shall be a troll named Jimmy. His bagpipes were sold in a garage sale and now Diego (Peter Petrelli) is in possession of them.

Characters needed: the love interest of one of Act 1's siblings, a monkey, the sheriff.

More characters can be added, or if you would like to bring your Act 1 character into here taht can be arranged.

Me please!

Annette will be Serendipity, love interest to Diego (Peter Petrelli). She has monkeypox and can only be cured by the bagpipe music of her true love. She dislikes the monkey who poxed her (John Conner).

*dies laughing* perfect!

Also, between acts 2 and 3, the monkeypox will become so overwhelming that Serendipity starts to look like someone else (Serendipity will then be played by Dean Winchester). The bagpipe music won't work at that point until the bagpipes are fixed. She may be able to return to the role at the end of Act 3.

Oh yes! I want her to return at the end of Act 3!

Cassie could play the sheriff. She can be tall enough. And do a horrible John Wayne impression.

Cassie will be Sheriff Bigcastle, the tall sheriff who sounds vaguely like John Wayne with a cold. With Serendipity (Annette) sick with monkeypox, Sheriff Bigcastle is hunting the monkey who poxed her (John Conner).

Steal John in here. He'll enjoy it. Really.

John is the monkey. He sneezed on Serendipity (Annette) and gave her monkeypox. Because of this, Sheriff Hardcastle (Cassie) is hunting him. Silly monkey.

....you do know I'm currently sick, and have been violently sneezing all day, right?

*totally wants to give people the humanpox at work*

I was actually unaware of that. Funny how that works out.

Characters needed: The King of England, the Monster from Act 1, a sibling from Act 1, a farmer.

More characters can be added, along with characters from previous acts.

Sibling would be the typecasting role, but any of the others would be fine too.

Enough time with monkeypox has changed Serendipity's (Annette) looks significantly. Dean will play post-pox Serendipity, the true love of Diego (Peter Petrelli). The cure for her monkeypox was the bagpipe music of her true love. The pox became too severe and that cure was rendered useless. She is stuck like this now.

Correction. The bagpipes are broken and cannot be used to cure Serendipity right now. Perhaps by the end of Act 3 she can change back.

ME ME ME!

John will play the farmer. He has no name. His wife is played by Katara. He and Diego (Peter Petrelli) were best friends in college. His daughter (Dawn) can fix Diego's bagpipes so that it changes Serendipity (Dean) back into Serendipity (Annette).

Oooh, Me!

Katara will play the farmer's (John Crichton) wife and the farmer's daughter's (Dawn) mother. She has no name. She also has no real role in the script, so have fun with it.

DIBS ON THE KING OF ENGLAND!!!

Sokka is the King of England. When Serendipity (Dean) has been changed back to Serendipity (Annette) thanks to the music of her true love Diego (Peter Petrelli), the King of England will marry them. He's just going to happen to be on the farmer's farm at the time. I don't know why.

Me! (any part you want)

Dawn is the farmer's (John Crichton) daughter. Her mother is the farmer's wife (Katara). She can fix Diego's (Peter Petrelli) bagpipes which will allow Serendipity (Dean) to become Serendipity (Annette) once again.

I choose monkeys.

Monkeys are always funny.

And feel free to fling my boy into any of the other acts if you wish.

Read everyone's roles in this post. Peter kind of became the lead character.

Woohoo! Stardom!

Seely can run rampant through any scenes that need it.

Feel free to put Katara wherever you'd like her.

If you need any random NPC's, Toasty, Rhyming Claus and Bertram are available.
