Thar Be Pumpkinheads a Brewing!
Greetings!
As you would know, Halloween is rapidly approaching, and in the days leading up to it, Fandom is going to get a visit from the Pumpkinheaded Horseman. On Monday, a student is going to stumble over a single pumpkin growing in the Preserve.
It’s Fandom, so of course it’s not an ordinary pumpkin. It’s a Cursed Pumpkin of Pure Pumpkinny Evil!
Having taken possession of it, the student will be cursed to transform into the Pumpkinheaded Horseman each night, and will ride out across the island in his really very cool cape. The actual transformation won’t happen until he arrives at the stables to collect the Steed of Evil [nb: Steed is not really evil]. The Horseman will be wielding magic mini-pumpkins. Anyone who is hit by one will become part pumpkin, exactly what and where moddable at will. Hands, head, feet, buttocks, whatever you like!
Each night, the Pumpkinheaded Horseman will ride out, seeking victims who are enjoying the great outdoors. The Horseman (and by extension, the Steed) is impervious to harm, and the effects are impervious to magic.
The Pumpkin Curse will last until the original Cursed Pumpkin is destroyed in a bonfire on Wednesday evening. And since it’s Halloween, and there’s a bonfire right there, there’s an instant Halloween party. The impromptu party will take place in the park on Wednesday evening, so all island residents can attend, and it won’t interfere with any trick or treating which might be planned.
What do we need?
We need volunteers to be out and about on Monday and Tuesday night to be hit by magic mini-pumpkins. Please sign up in the OCD thread to tell us what night you your character will be up for pumpkinning. If you don’t care what night, just volunteer and we’ll divvy it up evenly and let you know. Posts, of course, can go up early, and all these encounters will be for broadcast.
We also need a group of volunteers to realise something's up and be part of the ‘figure out what’s going on in the library on Tuesday’, and to spy on the stables Tuesday night, to discover the identity of the Horseman. This group will also be responsible for sneaking into the Horseman’s room on Wednesday and stealing the Cursed Pumpkin, and then destroying it in the bonfire.
Given the timeframes, if we get too many volunteers, we’ll use the RNG to limit numbers.
Volunteer comments will be screened, so as not to spoil. Questions, comments etc will be answered!
