AU Weekend Redux!

Yep. I'm posting this insanely early. Don't really care.

Why? Because on January 19-20th IT'S TIME TO GET ALTERNATIVE!

And no I don't mean that all the characters in FH will all start listening to indie rock and make snarky comments about any artist that becomes mainstream.

For that weekend only, your character will be transformed into a different version of him or herself as a result of Fandom Weirdness.

Alt-U characters can be any of the following:
An alternate universe version of your own character that occured in the character's fandom
(Ex. Buffy-> Wishverse!Buffy)
A different role that the actor who portrays your character/PB has taken
(Ex. Darth Vader -> Bleeding Gums Murphy
Aravis-> Vesper Lynd)
An alternate character that is based on your character or your character is based on.
(Ex. Hamlet -> Simba from the lion king)
An actor who has portrayed the character before or after your current actor
(Ex. Hamlet -> Mel Gibson!Hamlet)

The other suggestion I have for those characters who do not have an alternate universe to draw from is to do a play on their names.

Examples:
Thursday Next -> Wednesday Addams
John Sheppard-> Shepherd Book.

If none of the above does not work for you, you also have the option to think your characters are either from the wrong universe or the godawful Mary Sue steroptypes of themselves that show up in fanfic.

If you are really struggling to find a character to turn into? Ping me and I'll try to help you out.

Yes. Your character will physically transform into the Alternate Universe Persona that you chose.

Yes. Your character will remember what happened afterwards.

No. You don't have to change your character if you don't want to do so. You might have more fun going "WTF?" over the changes in everyone.

Just to clarify, since Anemone's VA is Kari Wahlgren, could I then use use any character Kari has voiced? Since, um, Ane doesn't actually have a PB to go from, I'm guessing the VA is the equivalent?

For instance, Kari also did the voice of Willow for the BtVS: Chaos Bleeds game, so would that make Willow fair game? Just curious. :)

Roles played by Voice actors would definitely fall under that category.

However since we already have a Willow in this game I'd have to say no on that one unless Willow-mun allows it.

Do we have a policy on real people? All the other DiCaprio movies I like seem to be biopics. (or he's, you know, playing retarded, which is such a world of bad taste I wouldn't touch it with a very very very very long pole.)

The game policy on real people is that they have to be the fictional versions (ie: Chuck Noblet turned into Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report last AU weekend but the personality from the show not the actor behind the scenes - thin line, I know - and we once had Geoffrey Chaucer but he was from that Heath Ledger knight movie and same with Beethoven from Immortal Beloved). So, for example, even though Frank Abagnale Jr was a real person, if you were playing Leo's version from Catch Me If You Can, that would be okay by game policy.

So, for instance, for Kara Kent, would it be any version of the Supergirl character (coz OMG there are a ton) or would it have to be one of the other versions of Kara Zor-El?
