Change your Mind!

First off, please ignore the account here; it turns out that Adah doesn't have posting access to this comm and I'm too lazy at seven thirty in the morning to fix that.

But, anyway, the reason I'm here: Upcoming Plottishness, brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] canlendyouahand and [livejournal.com profile] ecirpnellehada. It's not as scary as it sounds, honest!

Premise

Adah and Igor are an dangerous interesting combination, with a perfectly healthy interest in what makes people tick. In Igor's canon, one of his clan built a machine that could swap a man's mind with that of a vegetable. Fandom's Igor has been working on one that will swap a person's mind with another person's, and this week, he'll be perfecting it.

But he'll need some volunteers to fully test it. And there's no one but Adah he'd get to help him with it.

Posters calling for volunteers will go up around town beginning on Wednesday, offering a life-changing experience. Those who want to try it will show up at Igor's Warehouse from on Friday mid-day, and he'll run them through the machine with someone else. They'll spend from then until Saturday evening in each other's bodies.

Practical Stuff

You'll find OCD threads below to sign up, and you can either sign up in pairs or to be randomly matched with someone. I'd like to take a moment to emphasize that, while pairs certainly are welcome and can probably inspire a lot of wonderful crack, it would be great to have plenty of players willing to be randomly assigned. This is one of those opportunities for two characters who might never get a chance to interact much to...REALLY get to know each other, although it's perfectly understandable that, considering the premise, to also want to stay with someone comfortable.

Once the swap takes place, the mind will stay with the player but the body doesn't. You character is still your character, just in someone else's body. The best way to do this is to touch base with your partner (if you want to be randomly paired, we'll let you know who it is on Thursday) and swap some icons to load in your characters' journal.

The Friday mid-day post will go up early early Friday morning, and the Saturday evening post on Saturday evening, with OCD for each pair. Once both partners have pinged in either Adah or Igor will ping in and run them through the machine. Since Igor's mostly the (excuse me) brains in this operation, Adah's part is mostly research, and she will have a "post-operation form" to be be filled out after the switch-back on Saturday. These are, of course, entirely optional, but your contributions to science would be very appreciated and probably quite amusing.

The Serious Stuff

While you have control of another character's body, you need to respect it. Yes, in bolds, because it's that important. No hurting it, no using it to have sex, no getting tattoos or piercings or anything else serious unless you have explicit OOC permission from the other person. It's a really good idea to talk to your partner about this, and to stay in touch OOC throughout the duration. We hope that it turns out to be a great experience for both the character and the player.

OCD's on its way! up!

Fnergh. I should have stalked the thread about whether it's openly marketed as brain-swapping or not. (I can't actually see the posters, thank you work for blocking photobucket as "streaming media") I don't think I can pull off Francine volunteering if she didn't think it was something more innocuous. She's kind of a fraidycat.

...I blame work for killing my brain. Is this saying pull Francine off, or is this you asking if it's openly being advertised?

If it's the latter, it's openly advertised and guaranteed safe.

Work is a serial killer today, trust me; I doubt I'm typing in English. Pull Francine off, yeah, sorry. I don't think she'd volunteer for it knowing what it was, guaranteed safe or not.
