AU Weekend! Yes! Again!

Yep. I'm posting this early and I'm pretty much copying and pasting from the last time this was done.

Why? Because on February 7-8th IT'S TIME TO GET ALTERNATIVE!

And no I don't mean that all the characters in FH will all start listening to indie rock and make snarky comments about any artist that becomes mainstream. You've obviously confused this post with Questionable Content.

Anywho: For that weekend only, your character will be transformed into a different version of him or herself as a result of Fandom Weirdness.

Alt-U characters can be any of the following:
An alternate universe version of your own character that occured in the character's fandom
(Ex. Buffy-> Wishverse!Buffy)
A different role that the actor who portrays your character/PB has taken
(Ex. Aravis -> Vesper Lynd)
An alternate character that is based on your character or your character is based on.
(Ex. Hamlet -> Simba from the lion king)
An actor who has portrayed the character before or after your current actor
(Ex. Hamlet -> Mel Gibson!Hamlet)

The other suggestion I have for those characters who do not have an alternate universe to draw from is to do a play on their names.

Example:
John Sheppard -> Shepherd Book.
Chuck Bass -> Chuck Bartowski

If none of the above does not work for you, you also have the option to think your characters are either from the wrong universe or the godawful Mary Sue steroptypes of themselves that show up in fanfic.

Need an example: Hermione Sue

'Nuff Said, OMG.

If you are really struggling to find a character to turn into? Ping me and I'll try to help you out.

Yes. Your character will physically transform into the Alternate Universe Persona that you chose.

Yes. Your character will remember what happened afterwards.

Yes. Worf is a sexy beast. (Just seeing if you're reading closely.)

No. You don't have to change your character if you don't want to do so. You might have more fun going "WTF?" over the changes in everyone.

And yes, this plot will be available for alumni and expatriates.

Sign-ups will be going in another post and will be due February 2nd.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?

Worf is a sexy beast!

And has no joy in his life.

Of course he has joy! See? He's wearing a jaunty cap.

That icon is awesome.

But Priestly doesn't believe you.

Yeah. I'm not buying it either.

So merry. Quite contrary. You might ask how his garden...

I'm just going to stop now.

This is the DOPIEST CONCERN EVER, OK, but I'm throwing this out here because if anyone knows it'd be y'all: Did anyone watch Growing Pains closely enough to remember DiCaprio's character or know where I can DL a few eps of his season? I didn't watch the show more than once or twice, and all I have to base characterization on is, like, 3 minutes on YouTube and some godawful fanfic. But making Romeo a "troubled" sitcom kid is too cracked an idea not to take advantage of.

Same goes if any of the Aussies wanna tell me about Yvonne Strahovski's TV work, actually, though there's more of that on YouTube and I'm leaning toward not AUing her anyhow.

Sadly all I really remember of him is that he was Ben's friend before they pulled him in because of whatever was going on with his family. I was too busy going "WTF WHY IS THE BABY SUDDENLY SIX THIS IS NOT A SOAP OPERA I BLAME YOU FAMILY TIES J'ACCUSE."

Surf the Channel has streaming copies of Growing Pains: http://surfthechannel.com/show/2939.html

Note: I am not responsible if anyone clicks this link and gets sucked into watching episodes. Not that I think that could happen. I can quit any time, really.

You're not missing much.

Heh. This is my shocked face.

*pats her* She really had limited options - Home & Away, Neighbours, Blue Heelers or Random Police/Hospital Drama No One Really Knows Details About. Her experience was the latter. Hooray for her getting out!

Hee, yeah, I figured from the fact Wiki is very, uh, minimalist about it that her previous work wasn't anything too exciting, but asking never hurts.

Hooray for her getting out, and hooray for Chuck's writers for (eventually) giving her more to do than look hot and deliver exposition.

I so need help with someone for K-Mart because honestly, the only thing I can think of is turning her into Dahlia from Silent Hill and I think I'd end up stabbing her in the face if I had to play her as batshit crazy for a weekend.

K-Mart --> Wal$Mart --> WallyWorld --> Wall-E ?
