Brian Michael Bendis, please don't sue!
Because, really? Why did I think it was a smart idea to adapt a massive crossover event to a personal exit plot?
Okay, so on May 6th and 7th, Fandom will be getting a few unwanted visitors in the forms of people we already know. Skrulls have been trying very, very hard to take over Earth over in the Marvel Universe for a long time now and last summer they damn near succeeded. In a surprisingly well written and planned company wide event, key people on the planet were replaced by Skrulls as sleeper agents. These Skrulls were granted the powers (or lack there of) of those they replaced (by SCIENCE, thanks oodles, Marvel) and were also brainwashed into thinking they really were these people.
Until they were triggered of course.
These Skrulls aren't here to harm the people, mind you. Not if they can help it. This is a mission of conversion based on the words of their religion. With the help of the human race, they can become a stronger people.
Now, the people replaced here have already been chosen just as they were in the canon. They're all in the perfect positions to take out the island's normal defensive groups by kidnapping hostages. Of course, the Skrulls neglected to learn just how well the average Fandomite takes to this sort of thing.
So, what I would love like pie would be people up for organizing their fellow students into a sort of resistance movement. Without Frenchies. Or singing of musical numbers. The first day of the island-wide part will allow for people to catch onto what's happening and react as they wish.
The second day...
That is where I will need to beg prettily for volunteers.
There will be four things I will need from the group I get here. One will be someone to find the big bad spaceship hiding in the preserve to inform the others of. Two will be a bit of a free for all fight about town to divert the attention of our invaders away from... three. Which will be a small team of people going into the spaceship to free the hostages. And, last but not least, I will ask kindly for someone to help me kill the big bad Skrull leader.
All of these things will be RNGed, of course. And I will also be asking for people willing to play NPC Skrulls for the battle and for simple interaction if they would be so very kind and awesome. If you're not up to living at the mercy of the RNG but would like to still get with the fighty/planny just make sure to note that when you tag in.

And if anyone does take this as such a sign, I'll go back in time and kill your grandfather.
Questions!
Re: Questions!
Stupid working for a living
Re: Questions!
The more plotty bits will probably be pre-played to save on sanity during the work week.
Re: Questions!
(And for the record, if it's island-wide and unavoidable, I would totally call that a BDE, regardless of who's running it.)

Re: OOC
Re: OOC
A few of them look like Fandomites (They'll be revealed when the plot happens), but the rest that arrive will look like normal, green Skrulls (http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u231/greg-23/SinghArune-ECBeachCouple_800x600.jpg).
Re: OOC
1. Have the students who will be replaced by Skrulls always been Skrulls?
2. Will those students then be permanently gone from the game?
3. If yes to the previous two questions, how does on sign up a character that they were planning on writing out?
4. Will it be a BDE that is impossible for any character to ignore?
Re: OOC
2. See above.
3. Above as well!
4. It's not actually a BDE, it's just a player run plot... By me all on by my lonesome... that was a bit too big in scope to avoid this sort of thing. And I wanted to include anyone who was interested in it.
Re: OOC
4. The reason I'm confused is that it this reads like the arrival of the Skrulls won't be avoidable at all and is an invasion BDE. Is it going to be like that with Skrulls on every corner, or is it a contained plot and people will be able to go about their lives without noticing the Skrulls are even there without being OOC?
Re: OOC
4. It is rather unavoidable since there will be Skrulls about the whole island for this. It's a personal plot that kinda just grew to this size on me.
Re: OOC
That's not a complaint, btw. I like the idea that a BDE can have roots in a personal plot, or conversely, that a personal plot can become a BDE. It just looks like there's a couple of different definitions going on here and it occurs to me that "BDE" is one of the terms we should probably add to the vocab section of the wiki.
Re: OOC
Then again, you've caught me half dead from sleep here. But that's my two cents, at least.
Re: OOC
Re: OOC
The main parts will be played out in pre-play with whomever volunteers for it and I thought it might be interesting or fun for people to be able to react to this sort of thing for a change so I wanted to open it up to anyone interested. The presence of these sort of invaders would be felt by everyone on the island and therefore hard to avoid like in a traditional personal plot as you say.

Possibly involving a yak.
...pretend that was witty and/or made sense somewhere outside of my head.
