ARE YOU READY FOR SOME PAINTBALL?
So hey, guys! How many of you have ever wanted to destroy the town with paint? Let's see a show of hands.
Good. Because in true Community spirit, that's totally what we're doing on Saturday, April 21.
As part of the sporadic yet ongoing tradition of game night, Topher and Kitty will be hosting a good old-fashioned game of paintball starting at sundown that will then get completely out of control. And we need your help for that!
the idea
Posters are going to go up around town and the dorms advertising a paintball game. We just need a few people to show up to Caritas on Saturday night to get paintball guns, of which due to a mixup there will be waaaaaay too many for a normal game. The game will start out all contained in the preserve where it's nice and safe and nothing's going to get damaged, and then people should be able to notice the game's happening and want to get in on it. Which they can do, since there's so much extra stuff at Caritas. And if the direction to keep things to the preserve gets forgotten, well. Oops.
Which means once people start joining in, we want all-out war. Let's take it to the streets, people. Anyone can join in, or get hit with paint. And we are going all night IG with this. Look, it's the day after the school board heads out, there's gotta be some frustration just waiting to be let out. This is your chance to go for it!
The game will end at dawn. Rather than trying to pick a single winner from an entire game where anyone can get in on this, if your character is left standing at sunrise, have them at Caritas to get in on the prize, which is...
...not having to clean up the town after this, unlike the losers. Because there'll be a week to get the place back into shape before guests start arriving for graduation. La!
Also you get to go to Denny's, because Denny's is for winners. (Admins, I'm not joking. I want a Denny's.)
the rules
Rules, which, btw, will be stated both in the Caritas post setting everything up and left on a note with the weapons, so everyone ICly knows them.
-If you get hit, you're "dead." This includes being shot, getting splattered with paint, falling on a paintbomb, getting rained on by paint-filled sprinklers, etc. If you show up with paint that's more than a clear "I touched some and then I scratched an itch on my face" kind of deal, it'll be assumed that you got hit and you're out of the game.
-If you shoot at someone, they determine whether or not they got hit. No modding unless you've cleared it with them.
-All of the town and up to the exterior of the dorms are at risk for paintballing. This means you can splatter the wall of the dorms, but you can't go inside with it.
-If you don't want to be involved at all, your safest bet is to stay indoors. It's possible to walk the streets without being unmolested by paint, but if all goes well you'd have to be oblivious not to notice something is going on.
-Caritas is considered safe. You can't shoot anyone anyway thanks to the sanctuary spell, so if you're in Caritas, you can't be hit. And if you try to shoot anyone there anyway, not only will you be transported out, but you'll be disqualified.
-No one will be going around and checking to make sure everyone's playing by the rules, so we're working on the honor system here ICly and OOCly. If you get hit, it's just good form to bow out of the game, etc.
There will be a preserve post going up early Saturday morning, and then you're free to do whatever. Post yourself in the streets looking for targets. Post yourself hiding in your store because crazy people with paintball guns are in the streets looking for targets. Jump into other people's posts. Feel free to go nuts. I will be disappointed in you if you don't.
