Upcoming Event: Fandom Pride!
Now that the mayhem and wonder of adults-to-teens has ended, I would like to direct your attention this-a-way!
It's time again for Fandom Island's second annual Pride Weekend, to be held on June 23rd and 24th! And this time, actually during Pride Month! Last year, you all made my heart happy with your participation, so I figured it was pretty much necessary to roll it out again, making good on my threat to make this an annual thing. Just like last year, everybody is welcome to attend and participate in the festivities as the island dedicates itself to a celebration of love and identity.
And we mean everybody. As usual, we won't be putting up with any Trans/Bi/Ace/Aro exclusion here, though given that everyone in this game is basically the most awesome, I'm not predicting that becoming an issue. Anyone who tries is welcome to meet me out behind the shed, where I'll viciously chew off their kneecaps.
The festivities will kick off on Saturday, June 23rd, with a Parade! Anybody on the island is welcome to ready their best rainbows and participate, or simply come out to enjoy solidarity and acceptance and unity and defiance. There will be minor OCD in the comments for this one, mostly to get a feel for numbers, though registration in advance isn't necessary if on Saturday morning you wake up with the urge to throw everyone and their puppies at the parade anyway. Bonus points for puppies. Puppies in rainbows make everything better.
They'll continue on Sunday, June 24th, with our annual Pride picnic in the park! There will, of course, be the requisite food and mingling, as well as any activities that people might want to suggest or organize. I'm basically demanding a bouncy castle, here. Halifax has conditioned me to think that no Pride is complete without a bouncy castle (and yes, Nuance, there will be a kraken slide). There will be OCD for this stuff, too, naturally!
On top of all of THAT, we're opening the floor for anybody else who might want to contribute an event of any sort to come forward and do just that! Does your character want to run a pancake breakfast, some manner of sporting event, a LGBT+ film festival, drag show, or what-have-you? We'd love to have it! This stuff will be up to individual players to post over the weekend, and the OCD thread for this can be used both for coordinating and making sure nobody doubles up on any awesome ideas you might have! If you're planning on doing something like this, please lay claim to it in the OCD before going ahead and posting that weekend, thanks!

Continuing my "who needs proper logins?!" parade, Hardison will be creating a giant, airy blanket fort where people can come in and rest and relax from the real world.
There will be messages spread around like, "Your identity is valid" "You deserve to be here" and "be your most authentic self" along with materials so folx can write their own messages of affirmation and leave them there for others to appreciate.

Rice Krispie Treats topped with frosting and rainbow sprinkles/heart candies as a donation-based PWYW fundraiser for LGBTQIA+ teen support, outreach, and shelters. Probably in or near the park, since that's where all the fun is happening? Could run all weekend as SP?
