Upcoming Event: Fandom Island Job Fair!

Hello, folks! I'm here to announce an upcoming event that might be of some interest to those of you with business owner/manager characters looking to fill some employee vacancies... or some characters looking for some gainful employment!

That's right, on Sunday, September 23rd, Fandom Island is going to be holding a job fair in the park! People with characters who do the hiring for their respective businesses will be invited to come to the park, set up a booth, and promote their shops or services while trying to find the best potential employees the island has to offer!

Got a restaurant? Entice the locals to your booth with free samples and a promise of an employee discount on those sweet, sweet pancakes. Run a flower shop? Free pothos plants! They're clingy; how could anybody refuse to work when the merchandise is literally dragging them back to the shop with them? Managers and owners are welcome to go to town to try to draw people to their booths. Even if nobody ends up actually getting hired, it's an excellent excuse to get out and do some socializing, getting to know the other denizens of Fandom Town in a nice, convenient, single post.

Sign-ups for this event aren't mandatory-- All you need to do is have your character show up to post a booth on the day of the event, and lo, the island will provide a booth! There will be some minor OCD here in this post if anybody has any questions, would like to brainstorm booth options, or would like to announce open shifts and make potential employee plans in advance, just to make things easier for everyone involved.

Furnado Animal Shelter - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

The Magic Box - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Turtle & Canary has openings on any day of the week!

And I've been meaning to get Amaya looking for an apprentice or two, so this is a perfect chance for that! So Blackstone Foundry and Forge will also have one or two spots available on any day of the week, as well.

So def hit me up if you want to claim any of those for suresies. Summer will hire anyone, but Amaya might be a little more selective.

If you'd like suggestions or to bounce ideas off of people for what you might have at your booth to entice the locals, or to work out possible business alliances, or to just share a neat idea you have!

That was invented in Delta quadrant, I’mma say no (okay, technically it was invented in the 90s but then it TRAVELLED to the Delta quadrant and even if you argue the federation had a hold of it by the end of DS9 when Quark was pulled from canon, it’s be new and shiny enough not to have been sold for a couple of mated slots).
