Volunteer to help run plots

YOU! Yes, YOU! No, no, the one to the left.... one more... yes, YOU! You have talents of various kinds and a giving and helpful nature and would be happy to help your fellow players to run plots. If so, this is the signup for you!

Perhaps you have ideas but no idea how to handle the organization of a plotline.

Perhaps you have tons of organization skills but no inspiration about plots to use them on.

Together, you can fight crime! Or run plotlines together. Or both!

Sign up below to let folks know what you can do and how you'd like to help.

Note: volunteers are not required to say yes everytime someone asks them. In other words, signing up here doesn't mean you've given all your free time away. It just means you're open to helping out folks if it's possible.

Note 2: If you have both types of skills, sign up in each thread.

[wait for OCD plz OCD is up. This sign up is for plot running volunteers only. Plot betas sign up here.]

Plot Beta Volunteers

YOU! You have creativity, you have insight, you have a critical eye Gomez, take that out of his mouth and you want to share it! YOU, yes, YOU can be a plot beta.

Basically plot betas are folks who don't mind lending a hand to their fellow players when said fellow players are trying to put together a... what's the word... oh yeah, plot.

Plots can be big or weetiny, in need of mod approval or merely in need of some tweaking. If it needs some outside input, it can be betaed!

Things that a plot beta could do:

1) Point out possible problems, both OOC or IC
2) Suggest improvements
3) Suggest ways to include fandoms the plot runner might not be familiar with
4) Give me pie

The list is endless! And all this at NO COST TO YOU! I, of course, am willing to accept both tips and bribes. You can't. Not unless you give me a cut of it. Sorry, but that's the way of the world.

If you are interested in signing up to be a plot beta sign up in the handy-dandy OCD thread. Folks can then use the information there to contact you if they'd like some betaing help.

Note: plot betas have no l33t mod connection. Just because a plot beta thinks your story is made of awesome does not necessarily mean the mods will approve it. Likewise just b/c they hate it does not necessarily mean the mods will too. Using a plot beta is not a requirement of running a plot, it's just available if you should want one. See your doctor if you feel dizzy, or have sudden bursts of song. Offer void where prohibited.

[wait for OCD plz OCD is up. Note: this is not the post for those who want to volunteer to help run plots. That post is here. This is beta help only.]

Plottery updatey type thangs

Hello all! There was talk of using this comm for things that would encourage more plotty stuff, as well as encourage everyone to give me more pie. I'll grant you that the second part there was largely unspoken, but trust me when I say it was there all the same.

Since the mods have recognized that giving me pie is the right way of things, and have also recognized that I am prettier than all of them (well, except for [livejournal.com profile] bugofjustice who everyone knows is the prettiest), they have asked me if I would be so kind and goddess-like as to lend a hand with all this plottery stuff. After double checking the part about pie, I was more than happy to agree.

So, in addition to everything that we all use plottery for now, here's some other stuff that will happen:

1. Cut a hole in a box Steal underpants I will put a post up where people can sign up to be plot beta-readers. It will be filled with yummy OCD so that folks can put down the things they feel they'd be good at beta-wise, plus the best way to contact them. This post will be linked to in the comm userinfo for handy-dandy reference.

2. A similar post will go up for folks who'd like to volunteer their services in helping to run plots. It will also be linked in the userinfo.

3. There will be regular posts by yours truly to encourage brainstorming sessions amongst any and all who would care to participate. Figure these will happen once a month until I see a need to have more or less of them.

4. Anyone who's got a random idea kicking around their head that they'd like to brainstorm about is welcome to post here for just that purpose. In other words, you don't have to wait for me to do any brainstorming about plots of your own.

5. If it looks like it would be useful, I'll start adding tags to plottery posts.

6. Insert Monty Python gag here You all will give me pie.

And that's about it. The big thing to remember is that all of this is unofficial. Everything that needed mod approval before still needs it now. These changes are just to help encourage more folks to be able to run plotlines and to help the creative juices get flowing. Hopefully it'll all work out. If not? It's totally [livejournal.com profile] needsaparrot's fault.

Beta and other volunteer signup posts will go up later. In the meanwhile: questions? comments? nekkid icons? pie?
