Spell Plottyiness

Hi all.

Just giving a heads up about a plot that might possibly start this weekend. Piper's going to cast a spell that could involve anyone living in the dorms.

She's going to cast a truth spell for completely personal reasons, so naturally there will be wacky consequences. Instead of only having an effect on Piper, I was thinking it could have an effect on anyone in the dorms at the time. So anyone in the dorms will have to tell the truth for 24 hours and anyone they speak to will have to tell them the truth as well. This is a possible way to get characters who don't live in the dorms involved.

According to Charmed canon, no one, except the sisters, remembered any truths learned or revealed once the spell wore off. Piper is going to remember anything she learns because it's another consequence as she will be the one casting the spell.

I realize there are going to be players who would like to deal with fallout from this sort of plot. And there are going to be players who would not. I thought of a possible solution to this problem. Any player who wishes to deal with the consequences could simply add an ooc note stating they'd like their secrets to be broadcast on the radio. It's the only thing I could think of that is fair for everyone. I am very much open to other suggestions to deal with this, though.

I'm planning for this plot to start Sunday night or early evening because the idea of Piper telling her workshop students the truth about their "baked goods" Monday morning amuses me way too much. *is slightly evil*

You do NOT have to play if you don't want to. Just have your character out of the dorms at the time the spell is cast. :)

Questions? Comments? Brownies?

Slightly evil?

And the fact that I love it makes me realize that I am such a sadist.... =D

Sounds like fun, hopefully I can get Clark involved somehow as well.

Keen.

To clarify: You can lie by omission under the spell, right?

This is a good question.

Is it that we have to tell the truth? Or that we can "speak no words that are untrue"?

And how hard/easy do you think it would be to figure out what is going on?

Yes I know I'm replying to myself, it is well established that I am some variety of goofball. :)

And when I say "what is going on" I don't mean "Piper cast a spell" I mean, "Something is making me tell the truth."

According to canon, the spell is that people speak the truth as they know it. If they believe that it is the truth, then it is the truth. However, I'm waiting on clarification from Piper on that one. :)

Hmm. *has thinking to do*

Sweet idea BTW!

Gyah. I'd love to play. I can't think of a single non-boring Alanna/Briar lie. But Faithful might be more talkative than usual. :)

Very interesting plot idea. Especially the no consequences/memories of the events afterwards. That adds an interesting dynamic to it all.

Would it be a matter of everyone waking up and not remembering the day at all, or remembering it as a normal day, or what?
