OOC: General request for plotting and organization

Hey, all!

So, in an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations, etc.

Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread.

Thank you so much for indulging my OCD your participation.

(And naturally, there will be threads, so please to be waiting for them and they're up!)

Lana is pretty and makes a really good victim? ;)

Angela can see ghosts, or ghosts sometimes show themselves to her. Canon is not hugely sense-making on this, but in-game I've established that it's an inherited family trait and VERY occasionally extends to a general metaphysical sensitivity.

GOB is a somewhat above average slight of hand artist. Good enough to maintain a career as an illusionist, but not good enough to maintain a SUCCESSFUL career as an illusionist.

Sam has a PhD in astrophysics, spent seven years under combat situations dealing with alien cultures in distant galaxies, can pick locks, rebuilds motorcycles and machinery, logged over 100 hours in enemy air space as a pilot, has an almost innate understanding of machinery, computers (including hacking), and physics, but is obsessed by wormholes.

For all that, though, she's a regular human and fragile--she breaks and bleeds and dies just like she would under normal circumstances.

Jamie also has some decent acrobatic/gymnastic skills he's picked up.

Alphonse is also really superduper good with alchemy. Basically physically and/or chemically changing an object so long as it follows scientific principles blahblahblah. It does have its limitations, and can be physically exhausting, but that'd only be a problem if he was doing a few huge transmutations a lot at once, or if he's already injured/physically exhausted to begin with. Also, just 'cause it's been asked before, yes, he does need transmutation circles still. Normally he carries around a pair of gloves with an array sewn/painted/printed/whatever you want to think on the palm of them both, but if those aren't avaliable drawing an array also works.

Aeryn is a very good pilot, and while she does have a Prowler here, only four people and the troopers know about it at the present time. However, give her a spaceship and some time to work it out, and she can probably fly it. (Aeryn can fly in atmosphere, but don't count on her for it. Stick to space.)

Animals, yay. Jaye can probably do absolutely nothing to help in plots, except for the fact that the animals talk only to her and tell her when to meddle in someone else's business to further their own plot. Think of her as a walking plot device with a little wax lion.

Dean has also some knowledge and experience with making fake ids and credit card fraud.

As well as hustling at pool and poker.

He's some mechanical skill -- having built an EMF meter from an old walkman.

It was established during the Angel poison plot that yes, Su still qualifies as a Queen of Narnia, under the prophecy. Pretty much this means that for purposes of plot, she can see/sense Narnian magic, and might be a little more sensitive to the other types. Otherwise, it doesn't convey any special protections, abilities, or destiny.

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-08-21 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Angel's fairly deft at pickpocketing, and somewhat good at lockpicking. Breaking & Entering is a problem if it's a private home he doesn't have an invite to, of course ;)

He's skilled at drawing which, combined with the photographic memory, means he can try to recreate things like passages in books if he's only glimpsed them once.

Though a doofus in many aspects of life, he's incredibly quick-thinking when it comes to creating instant aliases and alibis while on a case.

His past history as Angelus also means that he's very familiar with torture and evil. He can either recognize patterns of it when he sees it (e.g. "These victims were killed by someone who was doing it to enjoy themselves.") or use those torture skills on someone if they piss him off or he needs to force them to do something, like give him information.

Tommy's done construction as well as firefighting, so he's got the ability for general contract work.

He sees ghosts, but this is limited to the ghosts of those whose deaths he feels personally responsible for. In s2 he also saw Christ and Mary Magdelene. In s1 he was able to pray to make some of his ghosts go away, and in s2 he prayed for a sick child who then got better. However whether the ghosts and the results were all real or merely figments of his imagination coupled with coincidence remains to be seen.

Hamlet is capable of seeing and talking with ghosts (most notably that of his dead Father) and of sometimes being drafted into doing their unfinished business for them. Like Angela, I've also expanded that into a very rarely used metaphysical sensitivity, which means that he can occasionally get a sense that something somewhere is somehow wrong when big things are going down, but in no more detail than that.

Re: Anything I missed

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-08-21 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Two random "oddities" Ranma has. First, he's got a deeply scarring fear of cats due to his father trying to teach him a special martial arts technique. The training worked in someways but didn't in others. Ranma is now very scared of anything resembling a cat but when his fear of cats takes over he starts to act like a cat himself. He isn't in control of himself and doesn't remember what happened during it. While in cat form (he looks the same) he walks on all fours and makes cat noises and jestures. He's also extremely powerful. And out of control. He shreads things up with his "claws" and attacks anyone who bothers him. He will find someone's lap to sit in eventually and calm back down to himself. Such a random power leading mostly just to odd situations.

Secondly he has a random curse on his hair. If someone was to take the tie off his braid it grows quickly. Really quick and a lot. It's something he's sensitive about but it's way more just bothersome than a power.

Teleportation, in a sense....opening the "Paths of Darkness" that are everywhere, and taking them to other areas. It's not instantaneous, but it's still fast. Demyx just can't take them off-world, like he used to. Must be a side effect of being dead?

Blair can meditate and reach the spirit plane and has a wolf spirit animal. Sentinel canon has interactions on the spirit plane having real life consequences, so Blair has a certain amount of ability to affect change in that way.

Jack can - and will, given the right incentive - seduce almost anyone. And hey, sometimes that they're there is sufficient incentive. If it came down to protecting something he cared about, he'd be completely amoral about using it to get what he wanted.

Xander has +5 SF/comics/D&D geek skills. Some of which he's more likely to admit to than others. In canon, he speaks Klingon; in FH!meta, he speaks Tev'Mekian, which is Dr. Lazarus' language from Galaxy Quest.

He's got what right now amounts to an affinity for woodworking and general shop-like building skills, which is something that he canonically doesn't really develop until this coming fall, but I accelerated that at FH by throwing him in MacGyver's shop class and making him fall head over heels for it. By the end of his canon he's an accomplished construction worker and foreman, and does more smallscale carpentry work on his own. In canon it's self/job-taught; in FH!verse, he's off to pursue a degree in construction management.

...He seems to have an affinity for attracting/dating demons and other weird/dangerous people, though there are exceptions. This may be more the universe laughing at him, but it's not out of the realm of logic to point at an NPC and say "S/he's coming on to Xander. Get the Holy Water."

Peter's a trained tactician and strategist. He leads his army from the front as it were.

He's High King of Narnia so I suppose per the already established FH canon stated by [livejournal.com profile] susanofnarnia: "Pretty much this means that for purposes of plot, she can see/sense Narnian magic, and might be a little more sensitive to the other types." (Only insert he instead of she)

He took Anakin's flight workshop and enjoyed it greatly, learning to fly as much as one can in 8 weeks. He'd take just about any opportunity to learn more or to fly something.

Daisy is a skilled actress (professionally, while she was still alive, and she's kept in practice). She is also has a lot of people skills (insinuating herself into situations and getting enough trust from the other individual to find out key information from them, especially their name).

[identity profile] kawalsky.livejournal.com 2006-08-21 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Despite Kawalsky's training - which he had to work very very hard to get through - and his combat experience, he's in a new body, he's not as fit and he has a hard time doing what he used to be able to do.

As for his damage level? He's a regular human, if a little on the chunky side for his age. And the bigger they are? The harder they fall.
