OOC: General request for plotting and organization

Hey, all!

So, in an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations, etc.

Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread.

Thank you so much for indulging my OCD your participation.

(And naturally, there will be threads, so please to be waiting for them and they're up!)

Hermione is a witch, who while she should only be in her fifth year of schooling is working at at least a seventh-year level. Ask her just about anything magical in the HP-verse and she's probably read about it. I'm so not listing off all the spells she can do, so I give a handy dandy link instead. She also needs her wand to do anything.

Dawn did two spells in canon--one bringing her mother (or some facsimile thereof) back to life, and the other doing some vision thing for Buffy, but I'm not considering her a magic user, even though she is familiar with magic.

What Dawn said. Xander comes from a universe where magic works, and he can do spells that any schmoe with the proper recipe book and spicerack can do, but he's got no inherent ability of his own.

Tim gets along well with magical creatures, his family has had close ties with the Fey for generations. Tim weilds a magic wand/sword that commands respect from the Fey that see it, as a badge of office. He is known as the Dread and Puissant Champion of the Fae. This tool has been used as a tracking device, given him minor telekinetic abilities, has been mentioned as being able to be an offensive weapon (as a wand), and can be summoned to Tim's hand at a moment's notice. Both Baba Yaga, and Loki have found it prudent to remove it from the equation in their respective turns as big bad in Tim's canon. In the future of Tim's canon the wand/sword is shattered, and each piece could grant a wish, once repaired, it peiced together a soul that had been torn asunder.

In game, Tim has used it to draw black magic out of objects, and it was able to harm the evil faerie possesing Pippi.

I think that about covers it.

While having no inherent magic abilities of his own, Dean is familiar with protective charms, runes, rituals, etc. Generally he's left the Latin exorcisms to his brother, but probably could do them himself if he really needed to.

Like any Buffyverse character, Angel can do whatever spell can be done by anybody who recites the words and puts the correct ingredients together.

Willow is one of the most Mary Sue powerful witches in Buffyverse. Or, at the very least, she grows up to be. Right now she's still learning but, unlike the other Buffyverse characters, she has the raw magical talent to do the real bad-ass spells.

Right now her two perfect spells are disinviting vampires and resouling Angel. (According to canon, the disinvitation spell needs a proper witch, but a beginning witch is fine. Angel's curse, however, is a powerful spell and Willow's the only known person in Buffyverse who can do it.)

She also has telekinesis which she can use to move small objects (pencils, stakes) around with some accuracy, and I've had her practicing to show her gaining the ability that lets her move bigger stuff.

Canon-wise her magic so works at the speed of the plot, but she's got locator spells, she's worked in an instant-sunlight spell, she's got some fire-starting, and later on in canon she gets things like teleportation spells into the mix as well as telepathy.

There are also more powerful magics that she uses in later seasons, but the implication is that she got them when she dipped into dark magic and her spells wouldn't have been the same if she'd stayed on the right path. OTOH in s7 there's the implication that she was always uber-powerful and just needed to know how to control her magic properly so... yeah. Here's me quite happy to play Willow back when her spells still did the wacky from time to time.

Oh, and she's also known to hack spells to make them bigger, better, yellow, faster, different.

Demyx has the ability to control water. He can summon it, manipulate it, dispel it, whatever. He can't do much with ice, but water - yes.

Canon!Bel is quite fluent in demonic sorcery, though since he's young I've been playing him as not being too good at it yet. He's got an excellent grasp of Latin as most demonic spells are in (very bad) Latin.

Yuuko's a witch. She's pretty much the zomgsoSUPERDUPERPOWERFUL!!1 character in her canon. While she, herself, has very few limitations, she's the kind of character who expects equal payment out of everything in order to do any sort of magic for anyone who isn't her. So, really, she's not going to be flinging her magic left and right to just anyone who wants it. I guess it would be obvious, but she's very knowledgeable about magical and spiritual/occult like things. But, again, she's not going to throw around her knowledge left and right so easily, too.

Alanna is Gifted. What this means is she has some, rather random, magical abilities. She can heal but nothing more complicated than a fracture. If the bone is broken, she can only heal it a little after it's been set, etc. Because of the way she's been taught magic (randomly) her spells are from all over the place. Canon has had her using thread magic, TK, turning objects into other objects, casting fire/engergy balls, casting illusions, and some defenese and attack spells. Like I said, very very random. Oh, and using magic causes her fatigue. If she over extends herself, she can pass out or even die. Her magic is part of her.

Faithful is a god. Canon has him able to tell when someone is very good or very bad, when Alanna is in danger, if there's magic or other gods afoot, etc. And because canon is random, we have him doing random things as well. It's heavily hinted at that he can see a vague idea of what's to come and can tell what's already happened. However, unless Alanna's life is danger, Faithful will not interfere. The most he'll do is confirm an idea you have, and even then he'll speak in riddles. He's more interested in that can of tuna than what's going to happen to you.

One more. *deep breath* Briar: He's a plant mage. He can "talk" to plants, make them grow, make them die, make them move, etc. His powers lie within plants. If there's no plants around him, he's almost without magic. The powers he has without plants are the ability to talk to his foster sisters in his head. To make life easier for me, he can only talk to Sandry because Daja and Tris are out of range. He can make plant balls that are activated with water that don't require any magic (just a bottle of water). And he can see magic a little, but I've been playing it as FH has interfered with that already fairly shaky talent.

Piper is a witch and has the power of Molecular Manipulation. This comes in two forms: Temporal Stasis (slowing of molecules, causing things to freeze) and Molecular Combustion (speeding up molecules, causing things to explode). She can also cast spells and make potions.

Cedric is a wizard who left Hogwarts during his seventh year of schooling. The spells (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/spells/spells.html) listed here are probably able to be cast by Cedric with the exception of a few. He uses a wand exclusively and cannot perform any magic without said wand.

Draco's a wizard. He finished six of the seven years at Hogwarts. From what the books say he's pretty good. He was just behind Hermione in school. dirty He needs his wand to do anything though.

Tyler can make chemical explosives. He's good enough to blow up prety much anything he wants to, though as he's self-taught, he screws up more often than someone with, say, a military background would.

Tyler is a really good and very energetic street fighter. But as with explosives, he's self-taught and won't have the abilities of someone with more professional training.

Peter can cling to most surfaces, is strong enough to lift about 7 tons if he really pushes it, has enhanced speed and agility, and has a sixth sense that alerts him to impending danger.

The Tick has superstrength (levels never clearly defined, but taken to be "as strong as needed for the plot or joke"), is really quite fast especially considering his size ("as fast as needed for the plot or joke"), and is nigh invulnerable (he can hold an exploding bomb without any ill effects except mild disorientation).

His antennae presumably do something other than keep him balanced. No clue what.

Support skills
