Plot Beta Volunteers

YOU! You have creativity, you have insight, you have a critical eye Gomez, take that out of his mouth and you want to share it! YOU, yes, YOU can be a plot beta.

Basically plot betas are folks who don't mind lending a hand to their fellow players when said fellow players are trying to put together a... what's the word... oh yeah, plot.

Plots can be big or weetiny, in need of mod approval or merely in need of some tweaking. If it needs some outside input, it can be betaed!

Things that a plot beta could do:

1) Point out possible problems, both OOC or IC
2) Suggest improvements
3) Suggest ways to include fandoms the plot runner might not be familiar with
4) Give me pie

The list is endless! And all this at NO COST TO YOU! I, of course, am willing to accept both tips and bribes. You can't. Not unless you give me a cut of it. Sorry, but that's the way of the world.

If you are interested in signing up to be a plot beta sign up in the handy-dandy OCD thread. Folks can then use the information there to contact you if they'd like some betaing help.

Note: plot betas have no l33t mod connection. Just because a plot beta thinks your story is made of awesome does not necessarily mean the mods will approve it. Likewise just b/c they hate it does not necessarily mean the mods will too. Using a plot beta is not a requirement of running a plot, it's just available if you should want one. See your doctor if you feel dizzy, or have sudden bursts of song. Offer void where prohibited.

[wait for OCD plz OCD is up. Note: this is not the post for those who want to volunteer to help run plots. That post is here. This is beta help only.]

1) Motivations/rationalisations for actions, finding solutions to linkage problems, brainstorming long-term character repercussions, breaking down plot ideas into step-by-step outlines.
2) Never really run one before, I suck at coming up with original ideas, and I am not good with the crack.
3) Doctor Who, Torchwood, Valdemar, leetle bit of Marvelverse (mainly older X-men), some DC Vertigo (Sandman, Preacher, Books of Magic, Dreaming, most Sandman off-shoots), Bone, Discworld, anything by Neil Gaiman, Jossverse, Sorkinverse, Dresden files (book and TV), Honor Harrington, Miles Vorkosigan, Anita Blake (shut up!), most BBC comedies, Life on Mars, Star Trek (DS9 & Voyager), Tamora Pierce, Tanya Huff, Windling's Borderlands series, Jasper Fforde's books, DeLint's Newford, Tom Holt's books, Simon R Green (Blue Moonverse and Nightside) but I read SF&F voraciously and watch a *lot* of TV, so even if I'm not hugely conversant with it, I've probably at least read/seen it. I know not of Anime, Power Rangers, Star Wars, other Treks or comics, and I'm just learning Stargate and Farscape.

5) Aussie time zone and I have serious OCD issues, as in 'Yay let's plan EVERYTHING', but I can be reigned in.
6) You're getting Pavlova (http://www.joyofbaking.com/Pavlova.html), which is sort of like pie, only awesomer!

[shh, it was always here]
