BDE Group Information and Sign Ups

As previously mentioned, we're trying full exposure with this semester's BDE. The following is a list of the groups of people we need for this plot, along with a description of what each group is going to have to do.

The Victim Group:

These people will be attacked by the angels and be sent back in time, dun dun dun. We're veering slightly away from canon in that everyone will be sent back to the same date and place, but everyone won't be deposited in the same spot. The victims will have to find each other, group together, and come up with a plan to contact the future - namely, sending a letter to Fandom, to be delivered in present day 2008.

These people will also have the chance to interact with NPCs in the past time. This group can be made up of anyone from the island. This group by necessity has to be limited in number, so there may be some RNG action, here.

The Library/Internet Research Group:

This will be the standard 'in ur library reading ur books' group. These folks will be looking for information on why people might be disappearing, past instances of people disappearing from the island, etc. all with no success. Once the letter arrives from the past, the group will also start looking for information on the angels, with just as little success. The people in this group can come up with whatever.

This will be a low-maintenance group of students, because the successful research will be done by...

The Away Group:

This group will consist of students and teachers who will be going off-island to gather information about the angels, and figure out how to get everyone back to the present day. This will happen by way of a message being sent back to the people in the past, telling them what they have to do to make it back. We'll be releasing further details of exactly how that will happen, but don't worry, everyone will get back, unaged and in one piece.

Again, this is a limited number group, so the RNG will be used if we get too many people.

The Fighting Group:

Which really should be called the Blinking Group. This group can be made up of anyone from the island, and no major fighting skills are required - just a lot of guts and the ability to keep moving. Since the angels can't be physically destroyed, they need to be defeated through trickery, just like they were in canon.

The fighters will be split into pairs, and each pair will attract the attention of an angel and lure them into the preserve by blinking or looking away. The goal is for the pairs to lead the angels in to where more fighters are waiting, specifically people with teleportation abilities.

The pairs will then stand shoulder to shoulder in an outward facing circle around the teleporters. Everyone blinks in unison to lure the angels closer, then everyone simultaneously teleports out, leaving the angels facing each other, trapped in their circle forever. (Mwahaha!)

This is the finale, and will happen on Sunday, March 16th.

The Home Guard Group:

While people are disappearing/researching/putting their lives on the line, the rest of the island still has to deal with the threat of the angels. If you want to have your characters off of the island, that's fine. But if they're going to stay on the island, this is the group for non-plotty interaction. In order to stay safe from the angels, someone has to be on watch at all times. Safehouses will be set up on the school grounds and sleepovers will be arranged to keep people grouped together as much as possible.

This will allow for things like common room posts and more light-hearted and cracky interaction, to balance things out. Nothing specific will be required of this group. People will also sleep in shifts, so someone's always watching. We'll need adults (teachers/townies) to sign up to take responsibility for taking the 'safe-house' posts (which can be a townie residence, or a common room).

So, sign up! We need people to sign up to be in the victim group and in the away group. We need an indication of whether your character will be in the research group. We need adults to sign up to take safe-house posts (and an indication of your availability if it's limited - nothing beyond putting up the post will be required, but interaction would be dandy!), and we need our group of Finale blinkers and teleporters!

If you could also indicate if your characters won't be participating, that'd be great, too.

ETA: Now unlocked, so everyone can reply. And yes, you can sign up for more than one group, in case the RNG gods decide to smite you.

ETA II IN WHICH I PROVE I CAN READ: Sorry for the confusion. The Home Guard group is not just adults. We need townies and teachers to open "safe house" posts, but we also need students to open common rooms. So, feel free to have your students sign up there too.
