Brainstorming Post! [7/16/08]

Hello, all, and happy Wednesday! To maybe help you get through the middle of the week, here be the first of the brainstorming posts. Per the poll results from yesterday we'll be posting these every two weeks, although depending on the traffic the posts may get scaled back to monthly.

Format-wise we're still in beta-testing mode, so pardon our dust and the OCD threads here may not end up being the standard.

Anyway! Got a rudimentary idea for a plot? An idea that isn't quite a plot and you can't quite figure out how to make it one? A plot idea you'd love to see, but doesn't fit any of your characters? Something you want to throw out there for people to play with? Thoughts on possible cracky weekend events? A story arc you want to adapt for your character, but you need people to fill in some roles? Here's where all of that goes.

PLEASE NOTE that this is brainstorming only, and any plots formulated here are still subject to admin approval.

All that said, jump on in and brainstorm away (but not in the Valdemaran sense, we hope)!

[[Bit o'OCD coming up!]]

Oh, dude, yes. I'd love to figure out how we could pull off something like that. I wonder if it'd be plausible to figure out a way to combine that with the proposed Attack of the Mary Sue idea above, or combine elements of the two at least?

Oh, that would work really nicely!

Maybe it could be something like: Everyone who wants to participate gets a visitor from home, someone they believe they've known all along. This person is a tremendous Mary Sue/Adam/Jonathan figure.

Someone twigs to it, and the Sues need to be defeated.

My question is how they're beaten. Maybe the spell that brought them to Fandom is broken somehow? Or maybe everyone just needs to have a "you aren't REAL" moment?

Oh! This also reminds me of the Stargate Atlantis episode 'Irresistible'. Where the nerdy dork normal, plain guy is looked up to by everyone because of a pheromone drug he made?

Perhaps a similar thing could be whipped up to defeat the Sues? A sort of anti-pheromone?

...they totally need to be some kind of evil hive mind.

Borg Sues?

...that's kind of scary, actually. lol!

That's totally how it works.

And how you get characters turning INTO Sues.

OMG conversions ^_^ That could be a group of (poor benighted) victims!

Be an interesting twist on what usually happens with plot victims, too. :)

Now I totally have a mental image of someone approaching another character:

"But _____, I just want to give you a makeover! It'll be FUN!"

Stalk stalk stalk.

AAAAAH
