The brains, they are storming (7/30/08)
Hello and welcome to the latest brainstorming post. No idea too big or too small.
Here's the last brainstorming post if you want to take a look at ideas and do more work with them.
One of the ideas that came up last time was the concept of having things that could be useful to someone else's plot without knowing if someone had a need to make use of them. So we'll have an OCD "plot spare parts" thread for anyone who'd like to use it. (An example of a "plot spare part" is here in the previous brainstorming post).
OCD is up! Storm away!

General brainstorming!
Re: General brainstorming!
It was a fantastic idea and went exactly nowhere, but I wonder if there's some way we could adapt and use it for BDE purposes.
Re: General brainstorming!
The idea was sort of "KAOS has ties to COBRA has ties to Wolfram and Hart has ties to the Centre has ties to... " etc. Which crosses universes, but also includes a lot of canons that have multidimensional offices or travel abilities, so there's an easy explanation for that without bursting anybody's canon history.

Super Deformed Day, where people turn into chibi-versions of themselves. Want to pull a giant hammer out of hammerspace and bash someone with it? Go for it! Chibis will bounce right back, leaving more chaos in their wake.
Inspired by these images by Dustin Nguyen.

More specific!
Re: General brainstorming!
What if, (since so many of us have more than one character) the wrong person 'felt compelled for inexplicable reasons' to open a business instead of the usual employee? For example, a Tuesday could have Murdock working at Turtle & Canary instead of G'Kar.
It could be a random week-long thing, to give an opportunity for more people to be involved and to allow more leeway to ensure things like classes aren't interfered with. Since we wouldn't want students (or teachers) missing their workshops.

Viki's a teleportation specialist--with a canon habit of every now and again landing her and whomever she's transporting in the completely wrong spot. ^^ She's totally available if anyone needed a transportation mishap--she can even send people to the wrong spot, by accident, without having to go along with them.
Re: Plot spare parts!
Even if it's not in his head.
It can (and has been used canonically) to spy on either people. Could be useful for BDEs or random whatevers, even for dirty! purposes.
Re: Plot spare parts!
So if you need a grand ol' manipulator to set something up (within reason; he is a Good Guy, if one of severely questionable ethics) he's available.
ETA: He's also a telepath and, well, questionable ethics, so if anyone needs something dug up from someone's skull...

That said, I'm totally open to the possibility of someone finding out about it and using the knowledge of it to blackmail her into doing something for them, since she's not the sort who's going to step up and volunteer to help just anybody with stuff.

It can also be turned into a living blade which can kill demons of any level or strength.

Re: Plot spare parts!
I'm lazy, so these are both just going in one comment. Evey is pretty gifted with explosives; she's still learning, but she usually has enough stuff in her room to whip up some impressive bombs, so if you ever need a big boom, she's your girl.
Kaylee is a total Sue with mechanical stuff. Need a security system overhauled? Need an engine souped up? Need your tiny robot to be rewired to Rickroll people? She's happy to do it. She's usually happy to do things for free, but if you feel compelled to bribe her, she likes fresh fruit a lot. :D
Re: Plot spare parts!
to be Captain Obvious
to be hit on the head and knocked out for the rest of the plot
to do some lame thing that turns out to be badass (stormtrooper effect)
to be the best. damn. hair. in this game.
Re: Plot spare parts!
So, if you ever have anything NFB that you want certain people to find out about, he's available.
Also, if you want him to run and get help, Lassie-style, he can do that, too. He'll be much more grumbly about that and want to get paid for it, but can be talked into doing it out of the goodness of his heart if you try hard enough.
Questions!
OOC
Much though some of my co-workers tempt me to do so...
