Character Abilities Tally

Guess who gets to steal another post from Erin?

(Hint: It's me)

In an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations and so on. This is mandatory for all characters, and we would appreciate it ASAP though there is no specific deadline.

Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. Temporary powers for specific plots do not need to be noted now.

Please be as thorough as possible, as this will help everyone out with plots and knowing who can fill what roles.

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to do this!

**Wait for the OCD omg or I will take you up on a roof and Chuck Bass you.** OCD up and nobody is getting molested. Huzzah!

1 In this instance, "canon" does refer to FH canon as well. If your character at this time has honed their fighting skills or anything like that, please do make sure to note that. For guidelines on characters picking up abilities, please see this post.

2 For those of you who had characters around the last couple years and just want to C&P what you put in the post then, here are some shiny links for you.

Aravis, in spite of her size, has had to learn to spar fairly well. She has no formal training, but tends to rely on her reflexes and ability to dodge, and tends to be pretty ruthless if she feels threatened.

Hand to hand combat is what Emmett likes best. One punch from him is pretty much guaranteed to knock a human on their ass. Or unconscious. Smeyer describes his fighting style as "bear like". Which I guess means he tackles the shit out of you and bites your neck. He can rip your limbs off. Like a Wookiee

Cal doesn't exactly gain any exceptional abilities (except for the occasional bout of hormones), but he does have a messed up DNA mutation that gives him both boy bits and girl bits and I could not resist putting him in this category because of it. Because I'm mean.

Romeo's not trained, but he's scrappy and can hold his own in a street fight.

Aravis is an exceptionally good horsewoman, and not that I imagine this ever really coming up, but Calormenes are trained in the art of storytelling. So if you ever need someone to get their long-winded pretty words on, she's your girl.

Emmett's a vampire! He's got super strength, speed, smell, eyesight, hearing and his skin is like granite. He is also extremely graceful and agile and can jump, really, really high. Pretty much a big ol' Marty Stu when it comes to powers.

And he dazzles.

I'm awesome that way.

Naomi is familiar with a Starfleet type 2 phaser, which she has for self-defense purposes. A phaser has 16 levels, with 1 being stun and 16 being capable of cutting through rock and vaporizing someone. Level 7 is capable of killing a human. Naomi mainly has her phaser on stun, which is required of Starfleet phasers and she only trains with it on the lower levels (she feels comfortable using it up to level 5).

Romeo speaks Italian, French, and enough Japanese to pick up a girl or order a drink. And if religious knowledge is ever important for whatever reason, he's a practicing Catholic of the old-fashioned (like 1594) variety.

Marshall knows how to use a gun, thanks to Robin. Not very good though.

OH OH! He can use a sword too!

Evey knows a little about knives. She's nowhere near good enough to, say, throw them and take out an entire police squad, but she's getting to where she could pretty well defend herself using one.

Sarah's an expert in guns and knives. Her first choice is throwing knives, but she's a sniper-level shot and really doesn't miss.

Marshall. Kicks. Ass. All of years of fighting with his older brothers have paid off and he can do well when fighting an average human being. He will also slap the shit out of you.

Cal is actually moderately good in a good deal of the arts. Writing is up there, so is painting/drawing, but his real talent (if he applies himself) comes from acting.

It makes up for his utter lack in ability in any sport what-so-ever. All the training in the world isn't going to save him from throwing a punch like a girl.

And more.

Marshall wins every game he plays. For serious.

Evey is a budding explosives expert. She's very well-versed in things like fertilizer bombs and other fun things you could make using stuff around the house, but she's spent the last year and a half learning how to make things go boom.

And I play hot girls.

Naomi is good at researching and coming up with ideas that help solve complicated problems.

Dick has been to the gun range a lot with his father and is a pretty decent shot.

[identity profile] surferboy-09er.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Dick's good at brawling. He uses his size and muscle to kick ass.

Charlotte is very emotionally supportive, omg, and is pretty darn good at looking things up and researching, as well, although most of what she retains is usually pretty trivial.

Re: Fighting Abilities

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Dude. CIA martial arts training is amazing. In Sarah's canon she's attacked in the hospital bed where she's recovering from a concussion by a guy who probably has 50 pounds on her, and she gets the drop on him in a few moves. She's a normal human, but it is very, very hard to beat her in a fight.

Re: Support Skills

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Rory has a genius level IQ and can speak (passably, not fluently) about half a dozen modern languages, and can read or translate about that many others, as well as several dead languages.

She's extremely organized and a bit of a workaholic when it comes to studying or researching.

She picks things up CRAZY fast (whether it be languages, technology or what have you), and can be an asset in a situation where research needs to be done quickly, because she'll flat-out refuse to sleep or eat until she gets it right.

Meg's shot a gun before but she'd really rather not.
