Skrull Plot - Take Two

For anyone who didn't see the post yesterday, a few questions were raised over the size of it and how it can be ignored.

Now, the dates themselves can't be changed as it's not just me depending on this to have a character leave. But I would like to open this up for suggestions on how to make this easier for everyone to work with.

ETA: I apologize for the miscommunication and the poor planning on my part with the unavoidability of this plot.

I have rehashed the plans to make it easier to avoid should anyone not want to deal with it by removing the presence of the Skrulls in town and allowing those directly affected to spread it by word of mouth to anyone who wanted to be part of it. Anyone who didn't could easily not hear what was going on. The finale would take place in the preserve to keep it from drawing too much attention from anyone who doesn't wish to be part of it. I hope these changes make things easier for everyone involved.

To be honest, I viewed it the same way you did. I'll have five characters on the island, and, from how I understood it, would only have one who would be notably, predictably effected by it, because he was planned to be involved from the get-go (Hi, Chad!). So I'm with you here. I do think things got a little...miscommunitated? To make it seem to some like noticing might be more mandatory.

I'm sometimes notorious for missing things, too, especially with how busy I've been, so I don't know.

The part that jumps out at me as unavoidable is this:

Two will be a bit of a free for all fight about town to divert the attention of our invaders away from...

That implies, to me, super-powered skirmishes occurring in several locations about the island. That seems like something that's pretty hard to ignore.

That, I can see as being viewed as unavoidable, but how long is that skirmish going to last? Is this going to be days of fighting? Or just one showdown that lasts maybe an hour? I don't think it would be putting any characters out of commission for days at a time, personally. If you want your character to go out for dinner and this happens at three in the afternoon, have them leave the house at four.

It does look like it's been tweaked to make it more workable, though, so I might just be blowing hot air for the sake of making words, now.

Yeah, It totally seems like that part's been reworked... but the original implication seemed rather large-scale invasion when combined with the whole 'replacements kidnapping people' part, so I guess I'm just trying to say I can see how people were concerned?

Looking back over it again, I can see how people might have been concerned, yes. The reworked version looks to me like it will be easier on all parties involved, at least.

Indeed.
