Character Abilities Tally

It's that time again omg.

In an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations and so on. This is mandatory for all characters, and we would appreciate it ASAP though there is no specific deadline.

Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. Temporary powers for specific plots do not need to be noted now.

Please be as thorough as possible, as this will help everyone out with plots and knowing who can fill what roles.

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to do this!

**Wait for the OCD omg or Chuck will get Nate to go out with you and then dump you two episodes later** OCD UP!

1 In this instance, "canon" does refer to FH canon as well. If your character at this time has honed their fighting skills or anything like that, please do make sure to note that. For guidelines on characters picking up abilities, please see this post.

2 For those of you who had characters around the last couple years and just want to C&P what you put in the post then, here are some shiny links for you.

Canonically, Jack has an exceptionally good education (mostly focused on languages and history, but he's no dolt in other fields) and speaks a dozen languages or so. He's also a good detective and spy, knows basic first aid, and, for want of a better way of putting it, doesn't get squicked easily.

Veronica is a trained PI and is currently training as a CIA agent. She also did an internship with the FBI. As a result, she is a very good investigator. She's got access to a variety of government databases (though she generally goes to Mac for the big hacking jobs). She can pick locks, provide fake IDs, take & develop photographs, plant bugs, etc.

Ino can heal anything up to and including broken bones right now. She's no good for internal injuries, and can't do much but slow the bleeding for a head wound though.

She also speaks out-dated Italian and French.

Lois is good at stumbling upon important information completely by accident. I'm serious.

Marshall's a lawyer omg. Come on, everybody needs a lawyer.

Considering he grows up to be a doctor, Alex has rudimentary first aid skills. Not that he uses them all that often.

Bones is a doctor, dammit, and a damn good one at that. He's actually a kind of medical Mary Sue since on the show he was a accomplished surgeon, physician, psychologist, and exobiologist, and was also considered an expert in space psychology.

Which is extremely weird because if anyone needs a space psychologist, it's Bones.

Derek is a pretty experience profiler. He's also worked on the bomb squad with the Chicago PD.

The being able to repair stuff is obvious, but bears mentioning.

Tara can read Latin and has studied demonic/magical culture. Oh, and her singing voice is very pretty :-).

Ender is really, really smart. He has extensive training and experience in close-combat leadership and battle strategy. He's also more than averagely emphatic - in a non-powered sense - and extremely talented at figuring people out.

He also has built up some sizeable mechanical and programming skills.

She does know a lot of first aid from reading.

Flying! IF you need someone to get you out of there, he's good for it. Or producing food. Or organizing, actually.

Romeo is fluent in French thanks to his time in Paris, and knows dirty words and slang in Japanese; enough Italian to carry on a conversation; and some Latin thanks to the whole Catholic school thing.

If it's theatre-related, Geoffrey is your man. He knows the history of the theatre, of the plays, any number of them by heart. He's also a keen observer of people and very VERY good at manipulating them when he has to.

Ghanima is fluent in multiple languages, thanks to the people in her head. So far, Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian, Sumerian, Old Norse, Latin, Arabic, Romani, Gaelic, and French are the ones that have been stated in either book or FH canon, but odds are she knows more. She also speaks fluent Galach, 'Standard' (English), Chakobsa (Fremen), and ASL, all from her own personal experiences.

Ghani's decent with field medicine, enough to bandage a wound properly, but that's about it.

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hannibal can slap a bandage on someone and make sure they don't bleed to death.

Hoshi is capable of rapidly learning new languages. She's fluent in all the major languages on Earth and even some of the more obscure ones.

Dinah's been sidekicking for a while, knows CPR and basic first aid, has investigation skills, knows how to order food in Spanish and Cantonese (and that's about it), and can operate most computers well and has decent research skills thanks to backing up Barbara. Good with kids, too, thanks to lots of babysitting experience. She has rappeling experience with buildings, mad New Gotham parkour skills (run run run ruuuuun), urban climbing skills, and thinks jumping off high things is fun.

Also, she has a bicycle for getting around the Island a little faster than usual.

Fraser's...very smart. He knows a lot of insignificant facts and he will recite them at will. Need an Inuit story? He's got one.

He can also speak or understand: ASL, Chinese, French, Greek, Latin, Russian, Spanish, and Tsimshian.

He's got basic first aide experience as well.

Gavin's a pilot with a preference for X-Wings. Again, though, he can pick up controls and ship knowledge quickly with just about any ship.

He's also a quick thinker, proving himself to be able to work out complex problems in dire situations.

Arthur speaks several languages including French, Latin and Welsh (this is kind of canon-extrapolation, but hopefully a sensical one, considering the time and his station), and has hands-on leadership experience in both war and peace-related endeavours (oh, the grain distribution. The grain distribution).

Lee's got some basic first aide skills and has proven himself an able negotiator if he's pushed into the role.

He can also fly just about anything you put in front of him if he's given some time to get used to the controls. He's a very good pilot.

[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
John's picked up the ability to fly both a Prowler and a transport pod (from Aeryn, of course). He's not as skilled as she is (and never will be) but he can do it.

He's also exceptionally skilled in the maths and physics. He loves equations, wormholes and anything to do with the stars. High level maths are like butter for him.
