20 Years Reunion Brainstorming
A suggestion was made in the original info post to provide a brainstorming post for everyone to rattle off ideas, plan futures, coordinate relationships and whatever else might be needed for the plot!

Age at the Reunion: 40.
Backstory I've worked out so far: After the Last Battle, where the Dark One was stuffed back into his prison and resealed there for all time--or at least the next turning of the Wheel--and the death of Rand al'Thor and hundreds of thousands of others, Mat's wife Tuon turned the chaos into an opportunity to take over much of Mat's homeland. There is a truce between her Empire and Elayne's Andor as everyone's children grow up and wait for an opportunity to remake the world more to their liking.
This is way too much tension and responsibility for Mat, who spends much of his time bothering Arthur and Merlin (and missing Rand) instead.
How he could fit into your character's backstory: When the Last Battle came, Mat sent out a "all hands, all ages, all bloody Fandom ever" call back to the island and cheated like crazy to win. If you use magic, fly a starship, have superstrength or access to giant bombs? You were so invited to Mat's homeworld in 2012, Fandom time.
