Oh man, Chase just spent an hour meowing desperately at the dining room table. There isn't even anything there. I FEEL YOUR PAIN.

I have no idea where the mice are, btw. We don't have any signs in the house that we have even have mice, except that every few days, one of the kitties will show up with a wriggly little cat toy in its jaws. And one of us will guilt-spasm over the beady-eyed rodent and try to get it free so we can go and dump it in the park.

The last time this happened, the mouse scampered off and it turned into a total Benny Hill sketch of WHERE MOUSE GO??? Until Chase somehow snapped its neck mid-chase (this is how he got his name fyi) and then he got all sad. "Boo, my toy broke."

Once, my mom and I were going to have dinner, but there was something we had to take care of in the hall, first. Cue loud, LOUD noises coming out of the dining room all of a sudden -- Sarah had eaten most of my food off my plate.

DAMMIT, DOG. Though I think she's big enough that a glass of whiskey wouldn't even faze her.

Once, many years ago, a roomie used to host the Ladies MBA group for her school at our house. They left margaritas and daiquiris on cat-accessible surfaces. Like the floor.

I came home from IKEA to "Um, we may have gotten your cat really drunk, what do we do?" and a kitty with pink whiskers. Now you have to hold ANY alcohol in your hands at all times, and she'll still try to drink it.
