IT'S
SOAP OPERA WEEKEND!!
TIME!!!!!
That's right, boys and girls, next Friday, February 7, there's going to be an alumni event so that everyone can be on island as they wish. Then from February 8-9 it's full-on crack. YAY.
For those of you who weren't around for previous years, Soap Opera weekend is exactly what it sounds like. Much like AU weekend and such, for a weekend, the denizens of Fandom go through some changes... Namely, while your characters are still themselves, they behave like characters on a soap opera and think this is totally normal. For instance, Jaina Solo will still know herself as Jaina Solo, she just may be the conniving heiress to the Skywalker diamond mine fortune who's had two ruined weddings now and one stolen baby.
Monday morning, everyone will wake up themselves, and probably wtf a lot. Alumni will also get to hang around on Monday, as while they're spending the weekend lying to someone about whose baby they're carrying or going around getting amnesia, they're probably not thinking much about catching a portal home.
The Rules!
-DO NOT decide anything for someone else's character without their permission. If I want Sia to be the good twin to Jessica's bad twin (just an example), it's totally possible on SOW, but I'd have to drop a line to Jessica's player to tell him what I wanted to do. Be as cracky as you want, but keep those lines of communication open.
-While participation is voluntary, it's unavoidable in the same way AU kids and AU weekends are. Which means you should have fun with it. *nods*
-You also have the chance to do things you wouldn't ordinarily be able to do in regular gameplay without a plot proposal. Which means if I wanted Kitty to drown in a horrible boating accident off the coast, or if I want Maddie to be a secret witch with a doll named Timmy who talks to her, I could do it. It just won't be permanent. On Monday, they'll wake up alive and well and completely normal. (I would appreciate if you drop a line to let the admins/me know if you want to kill someone in a mob war or something, since that that's something that could get big and affect more than your run of the mill death would. If you have any doubts about whether you can or should do something, ask.)
-This is so totally not a rule, but I highly encourage y'all to mix it up. If you're thinking you want your character to find a long-lost sibling, why not have it be a character you haven't played with before rather than someone you play with every day? For those of you wanting to expand your circles, this could be a really good opportunity to do so.
-Don't worry if someone else is using the same schtick. Soap operas aren't exactly original. In fact, I'm deciding I want five or more long lost siblings. Make it work.
That's the basics. I'm also throwing down a comment below for brainstorming, should anyone have something they WANT to see that weekend that they don't automatically claim for themselves, or you want to find someone to be your new husband/wife/suspected babyparent/evil twin/supposedly-dead parent/Kelly to your Brenda.

In true Bruce Wayne tradition, though, he needs at least a couple current/former wives.
Actually, Batman may be his son instead of brother. I don't know yet.

She's going to be a fashion designer~~~ so the richer / snootier the family of origin, the better. Either mom or dad appreciated -- or hell, both, since there's no need for them to still be a couple at this point. (Or for them to be any more than a couple of years older than her, what with her only being three years old in show years.)
Any takers?

Any father will do, though I'm inclined to say Ben for no apparent reason, so she can be part of the youngest generation who insists she is so not going to get any of the diamonds and sulks about it a lot. Also because his PB does not look old enough to have a baby vamp for a daughter.
Especially not once I get some icons of way-older Blanca so it's clearly like a 25-year-old pretending to be 17.
Eeeeeeeeeeee.
Any father preference on your end?
