General Request for Plotting and Organization

Hey, everyone. It's that special time of year again.

In an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations and so on. This is mandatory for all characters, and we would appreciate it ASAP though there is no specific deadline.

Anything that is a canon1 power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. Temporary powers for specific plots do not need to be noted now.

Thank you so much for helping me out with this.

(And naturally, there will be threads, so please to be waiting for them and they are up.)

1 In this instance, "canon" does refer to FH canon as well. If your character at this time has honed their fighting skills or anything like that, please do make sure to note that. For guidelines on characters picking up abilities, please see this post.

2 For those of you who had characters around this summer and just want to C&P what you put in the post then, here is a shiny link. Why, yes, I did just C&P everything over.

Molly is near invulnerable and can lift at least 3 tons, probably much more (based on the fact that 3 tons is her canon limit at age 11 and a comment by Brian K. Vaughn, the writer and creator, says that her powers continue to increase as she ages). So, really strong.

Z has the ability to create replicates of herself at will, signaled by her eyes briefly glowing. The replicates are independently intelligent, but they will obey the orders of the original Z. She can later reabsorb these replicates, keeping any knowledge or memories they have developed. She can only create and absorb replicates within her line of sight. If she goes to sleep or becomes unconscious, any replicates will be reabsorbed. The replicates can be either solid or simply images, because her canon is nonhelpful like that. I've declared a cap on the number she can create and manage at this point in time at 'about a dozen.'

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Alec is an X5, a supersoldier genetically engineered to be superior to humans in most every way.

His strength, reflexes and healing abilities are three times that of a human. His senses (smell, hearing, vision) and his bone/cartilage density are twice that of a human's. His metabolism and flexibility are very nearly twice that of the human average and his cardiovascular/cardiopulmonary systems are as well (which means he can hold his breath easily for about 4-5 minutes and sustain physical activity longer than most). He can also literally think faster than a human (though neural net/synapse enhancements) and has eidetic memory as well as a genius level IQ.

Specifically, Alec and his clone (X5-493) are specialized for social skills (i.e. persuasion, coercion, and manipulation) through the use of genetic donors with an aptitude towards those skills. The DNA "cocktail" also includes black leopard, which leads to a number of the muscular/physical enhancements, but is only evident on a cellular and mostly internal level.

X5s also have a telescopic ability with their vision, being able to focus on something far away extremely well. The cat DNA also allows them night vision, though, like a cat, they still need a small amount of light (like the moon or stars or very dim light somewhere near) in order to see.

Alec can use all of his abilities to their full potential due to training.

Jamie has the ability to take kinetic energy and use it to create duplicates of himself. These duplicates can then be absorbed by Jamie later on and be able to retain any skills or memories the duplicate may have gained while apart from the original Jamie.

Courier has the mutant ability to exercise complete control over every cell of his/her body, even to the extent that he/she can destroy any sample of his/her DNA from a distance and prevent his/her mutant nature from being detected by the most advanced science. This ability enables him/her to alter his/her appearance to an undetermined extent, but the process can take hours.

He can also heal from a gun shot through the head, so some of the process appears to be automatic.

His control is very good, but there are probably things he could do that he hasn't even thought of yet.

Emma Frost is a transmorph capable of accessing both a human form with telepathic abilities honed to brutal precision, or an organic diamond form with enhanced strength and durability. Since her introduction, Frost has displayed the telepathic standards of broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind control, altering perceptions and memories, astral projection, etc. She is highly skilled at creating electronic devices that amplify/block/engage psionic powers, as well as exploiting flaws in most electronic equipment.

Frost is also very adept at performing 'psychic surgery': the utilization of pin-pointed psionic energy to exert absolute control over individual brain functions such that the physical form can be manipulated (i.e., injuries healed, disabilities repaired, stimulation or retardation of growth and aging, etc). This is an unusual feat for even the most powerful of telepaths, but one that Frost is keen to utilize whenever the occasion suits her. She is a "Psi of High Order", and capable of defeating telepaths with much more raw power than herself.

Frost developed a secondary mutation: the ability to transform herself into a perfectly smooth, flexible, translucent diamond-like substance. Her abilities have been inconsistent in this form. Although initially only her skin turns into diamond, she was shattered by a diamond bullet, indicating that her entire body turns into organic diamond. Frost is virtually impervious to all forms of physical damage and can use her indestructible body to support incredible amounts of weight. She cannot access her telepathy in diamond form, nor can she be influenced by psis.

Throughout the years, it has been strongly hinted that Frost is also a latent telekinetic.

When hit with cold water Ranma turns into a girl. Not very useful except in sex appeal.

Wade is in possession of Wolverine's legendary healing ability. He was an experiment subject in Weapon X where they attempted to transplant DNA from Wolverine into normal non-mutants. Luckily, or unluckily depending on how you look at it, the transplant worked on Wade... after some time. Stricken with cancer before the experiment, when it finally took affect, it merged with his cancer, leaving him scarred all over his body, and in a constant state of healing.

Later, his healing ability would turn out to have a mental aspect to it, allowing him to heal to the point where he remembers himself looking. (See Agent X for more details!)

Cassie, thanks to her exposure to Pym Particles, has the ability grow to great heights, and increase her mass. This extra mass fortifies all of her cellular tissue, including her bones and muscles, enabling her to support her increased weight and giving her superhuman strength.

She also can go the other way, shrinking down, with a lower limit approximately the size of one-half inch. Like her father, she retains her normal human strength at this size.

Conner - Super-speed. (One of these days I'll decide on a standard: to hyphenate or not to hyphenate.) Not a genetic mutation, per se, but it is bonded to his DNA. It's really fast; he can dash up three flights of stairs in about two seconds.

I expect this is hell on his shoes.

Shawn's powers are technically genetically linked, since his DNA was fiddled in some way when he was abducted in order for him to be able to produce Promycin in the bloodstream which is what gives him his powers.

His abilities are considered Biokinesis.

1) He can heal, anything and anyone. Quite literally. Cancer, gun shot wounds, broken legs, colds, papercuts, whatever. In humans and animals. He has been known to bring a bird back to life, but the writers like to change this one at will, so I go lalala and pretend that he can't heal the dead. It does make him feel a little weak if he's healing something major.

2) In the same way, he can drain the life force from people (and presumably animals, although they've never shown it). I assume the drained life force goes into him giving him a bit more energy/strength since the opposite happens when he heals serious injuries, however they've never actually confirmed this.

Honor is what is referred to as a "genie" -- a genetically-altered human. She's been specifically altered to adjust to life on high gravity planets. As a result, she has a high-gear metabolism, and wiry, strong body.

Peter can cling to most surfaces, is strong enough to lift about 7 tons if he really pushes it, has enhanced speed and agility, and has a sixth sense that alerts him to impending danger

Marie absorbs the life force of anyone she comes in direct skin-to-skin contact with. She absorbs their memories, thoughts & feelings (and they end up in a coma if she hangs on too long.) and, in the case of mutants & others with special abilities, their powers temporarily. If she hangs on too long, she can kill someone and keep their powers permanently.

Since Ranma put his here, I suppose Setsuna's own transformation would be considered a mutation as well. Setsuna will turn into an albino crow when splashed with water; this ability is still active now, but will disappear after a certain amount of times transformed (at the posting of this, she still has nineteen more to go; not enough people running around with cold water around this place).

When Henry Jekyll drinks his formula, the "HJ7," he turns into his evil alter-ego, Edward Hyde. Similarly, when Edward drinks the formula, he turns into Henry. Sometimes, under periods of great stress, Henry will turn into Edward without the forumla.
When Henry's feeling particularly tempted, scared or mean, he can hear Edward's voice in his head. Edward can also sometimes hear Henry, though the conditions for that are more handwavey.
The most important thing to remember about Edward is that he is Henry Jekyll, just witout any good at all. He is, technically pure evil. However, he's horribly selfish, so he doesn't always go out with intent to cause harm. He cares more about his own status and comfort.
Edward has some modicum of super stregnth, but that will get bigger as he gets stronger. It's his cannon that he grows taller, bulkier, and horribly strong as the years pass.
