General Request for Plotting and Organization!

omg, guys. It's your favorite time of the new semester. That's right, it's CHARACTER ABILITY TALLY DAY, YAY!!

Okay, you could at least fake the excitement. God.

In an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations and so on. This is mandatory for all characters, and we would appreciate it ASAP though there is no specific deadline.

Anything that is a canon1 power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. Temporary powers for specific plots do not need to be noted now.

Please be as thorough as possible, as this will help everyone out with plots and knowing who can fill what roles.

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to do this!

(And naturally, there will be threads, so please wait for the rather long OCD or I will have to kill something Threads are up!)

1 In this instance, "canon" does refer to FH canon as well. If your character at this time has honed their fighting skills or anything like that, please do make sure to note that. For guidelines on characters picking up abilities, please see this post.

2 For those of you who had characters around last year and just want to C&P what you put in the post then, here are some shiny links. Why, yes, I did just C&P everything over. Again. I'm very lazy efficient that way omg.

Aziraphale can create and banish items at will, alter his surroundings, make people disappear and alter memories (although these last two he's very very unlikely to do). He can also heal, move from one place to another extremely quickly, and he knows if someone is lying. He can discorporate and possess other people's bodies, and can in some cases undo other possessions. He has wings, and can fly.

And he can, through the use of what seems in canon to be a summoning circle, communicate with Heaven.

Most of these, though, he doesn't do except for personal convenience, or if specifically asked.

Mostly what he does is make very good tea which is totally an inherent ability.

Sam has some demon blood in him. I still don't know exactly what this does, but the running assumptions seem to be that it gives him his visions and nightmares, allows him to use the abilities of the demon's other special kids, and makes his hair extra floppy. Okay, maybe not that last one.

Luke's a Jedi. Depending on plot, it means he can do ANYTHING, wtf EU writers. So, telekinesis, emotion-sensing, faster reflexes, speed, ability to heal himself (not from whomped off limbs, though), etc., etc. He still tends to forget he can use a lot of these things.

Anakin is the Chosen One with all of his limbs attached and forty years of using his abilities under his belt.

So he could be the Greatest Marty Stu in History. He doesn't use his mad skills (same as Luke's--telepathy, telekinesis, ability to see past, present and future, insanely fast reflexes, increasing natural senses, etc., etc, I'm bored writing this) mostly because he thinks it's kind of tacky to tell everyone how special he is. Clearly they should recognize it by being in his presence.

He's also professionally sullen. It's totally inherent.

Oh, god, Jedi.

Telekinesis, empathy, mind tricks, able to kind of project feelings onto others, good danger sense, can get into a battle mind meld with other Jedi to fight better, supposedly can tell when someone is lying, able to use the Force to increase physical capabilities (jumping, throwing people across the room, way cool gymnastic stuff, etc.), some self-healing, can go into hibernation trances, and a bunch of other stuff I honestly can't remember, but chances are, the EU writers have added in everything you could possible dream of thinking of wtf.

Katara is a waterbender - one who can control and manipulate all forms of water. She's been named a waterbending master, but what exactly that means beyond a title of respect is unclear.

She can not create water though she can pull moisture out of the air or ground for use. She is also able to heal through the use of water though the extent of that power isn't known. She has healed burns and partially healed brainwashing at this point in canon. The indication seems to be that a greater degree of healing can be achieved, but Katara is not yet at that level.

She can manipulate water for a variety of purposes from collecting it into a small hovering ball to lashing out with it as a whip against a person or to cut a rope, fabric, or even cut metal. She can make waves, pull water to her, create and manipulate ice, create small waterspouts, trap people in ice if she has enough water at her disposal.

Naminé is a Nobody. As a result, she can create portals through darkness which connect two points. The range for these portals isn't specified, but they can work from world to world. People other than her can walk through these portals, and the portal will stay open until she closes it.

Thanks to being JOSSED, I can actually put this down here. Erk. *facepalm*

Anders is a humanoid Cylon. Per the BSG Wiki (http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Humanoid_Cylon#Physiology_and_Psychology) article, this gives him stamina and strength that are significantly above human average, and an extremely high resistance to most common human diseases.

As he has no idea of this, however, he simply chalks it up to being in obsessively good physical health.

Zuko is a firebender which basically means that he can control fire. He can create it and 'bend' it to his will. On the show it is made clear that Zuko is still learning how to fully control firebending, but he has been rapidly improving and growing stronger.

He can breath fire, create flames, throw fireballs, set off sprinklers and many more fancy tricks. He is also able to protect himself against fire and keep himself from getting burned, but he can not do this forever.

Some firebenders are also able to bend lightning. This is a more difficult skill and one can not control lightning like they do fire, they can only direct it elsewhere. While Zuko has the potential to do this, he hasn't been able to accomplish it yet.

Tink is a fairy. Or a pixie. Disney kinda smushes them together, for her at least, so I'm gonna say in her world they're synonyms.

She has a wand, and she can zap things with it. Basically a surface molecular shift: she waves it at your fridge, and the scary fungus in the bottom drawer is gone, it's sparkly clean, and it's bright blue now. She can't wave it at your fridge and boom, now you've got a car. (I'm not sure if she could zap your fridge to fill it with food, kinda thing? I think she could, even though that doesn't really count as "surface molecular shift" - but it's not screwing with the fridge's essence, and now I've officially put more thought into this than Disney ever did.)

Tink can fly, and she trails a fine layer of pixie dust when she does. If someone else were to gather enough of it to cover him/herself and then think happy thoughts, they would be able to fly. However, no one in FH knows this (other than Sora), and she will not be telling anyone this, because she hates you all.

She is also inherently fabulous. Just ask her.

Because of this, he can shapeshift/heal at a fast rate and has super strength.

Michelangelo, being a turtle, has built-in armor, otherwise known as a shell, which he takes full advantage of while doing such things as skateboarding. It comes in very handy for wipeouts, after all.

He's also got this nifty trick where he tucks his head away entirely. Oh, he loves being a turtle.

The only thing that Valentine can do because of what he is that everyone else can't is take off his face/mask, and have another identical one underneath it. It's not dangerous in the least (What's he going to do? Throw it at people?), but he does have the most amusing conversations with himself when he does it.

Re: Inherent Abilities

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2007-09-22 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Conner has the power of super speed, which extends to him being able to read everything around him (when the power's active) in super-slow motion and thus react very quickly. He's also been able to use this power to accelerate and control extremely long falls so he can land as if he just hopped down a couple of feet.

I couldn't give you an exact measurement of how fast his speed can go, but he can run up six or seven flights of stairs in about two seconds.

Yay vague canon.

[identity profile] way-black.livejournal.com 2007-09-22 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Blackheart has nothing anywhere else, but his list under this category is a mile long, go figure.

- He's essentially invulnerable. This doesn't mean that he doesn't get hurt, this simply means that it takes a great deal to hit him and make him stay down. If you shoot him in the back with flaming buckshot, he'll scream and stagger and be very grumpy at you. If you throw him into some stonework so hard that it crumbles to dust, he'll continue to be grumpy at you, but it won't slow him down much. For the sake of Fandom, I've sacrificed some of his stamina- he can take the beatings, but he can't keep taking the beatings. He'll slow down and stop eventually.

- Blackheart's most favorite pastime is filling humans' bodies with sulfur (called necroplasm) with a simple touch while he slurps out their soul, leaving a blackened, shriveled corpse behind. Again, for the sake of Fandom, he's been grounded, and while he's on the island, there will be no necroplasm-filled corpses.

- Blackheart is really, really strong. Throw someone into the floor and leave an indent strong. Pick you up by the throat and toss you effortlessly into the wall that's twenty feet away strong. And once again, for the sake of FH, his daddy has 'grounded' him somewhat. He's got above average strength, still, and it'll hurt but good if you get smacked around by him, but it's been quartered (smaller floor-indent, and you're only flying five feet?)

- Blackheart's real face is not the pretty-yet-pasty human face that he usually runs around with. He can shift his face to appear that way, but his real form is very, very toothy, and somewhat on the red-eyed nasty side. He loses his grasp on his disguise now and then, so other people might catch a glimpse of his snarly-face (as seen in his icon, here.)

- He has no soul whatsoever, and so he's invulnerable to any attacks that rely on a person having one.

- Creepy paranormal things happen around him. This might manifest from time to time as a sudden drop in air temperature, or as lights or candles flickering on or off.

- He's from Hell. He's quite used to fire.

- He likes a big, flashy entrance. Though he doesn't use it as any sort of attack, he causes it to rain fire and brimstone when he manifests someplace. (Which also suggests some form of teleportation ability, but bah, I've got enough to keep track of with this guy, I'm going to just say that he only 'teleports' between Hell and Earth and leave it at that.)

- He smells of burning ink and roses. Which apparently smells worse than it sounds. Thus making him the stinky kid on campus.

I'm stopping it here. If there's anything else, Blackheart is so cut off. Ner.

TONGUE.

Seriously, D'Argo's strong, a warrior type, and prone to Luxan hyper rage which won't get brought up much here.

But really, it's all about the tongue he can knock people out with. Six-feet long and full of adaptive venom, it won't kill, but it makes them sleep good. Ask Tino.

Aeryn is Sebacean (alien, la) and while she doesn't have any real powers, she does have better senses than humans, like hearing and eyesight and all that. Also is stronger than most humans. Also has those funky little translator microbes that mean she can understand pretty much any language. She just can't automatically speak it or read it.

Steve is a supersoldier, meaning his strength, agility, durability, and speed are all at the peak of human possibility. So he's really tough and it's really hard to bring him down. He also handwavily trains pretty much constantly to maintain himself in the best possible shape he can be in.

Re: Inherent Abilities

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-09-23 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Liz is a pyrokinetic and she is capable of both the creation and manipulation of fire even though her control isn't very good because she doesn't really understand her abilities. If she's under considerable emotional stress she will experience an uncontrollable fire burst. This has happened a few times in her canon (once when she was 11 when she burnt down an entire city block after rocks were thrown at her, and twice in her twenties when she killed 6 BPRD Agents in an abandoned warehouse and when she was staying at a mental hospital where her powers activated following Rasputin's influence to relive the moments of her first fire burst.)

In the movie Liz was shown to be getting better control of her powers and in the case of FH canon she has started to learn how to control her abilities better through meditation and she has gotten more comfortable with the idea of having powers. She has since become more open that she does have powers and she doesn't hesitate as much to show them to someone.

Jenny is a 'century baby,' the Spirit of the 20th Century, to be exact. This means that as of right now she has a hundred years of living behind her, but more importantly, she is very durable physically and can not only control electricity, she is made of electricity in some weird mystic way that is totally compatible with being made of flesh and blood at the same time.
