Calling all drama queens (and kings, can't forget them)!
Okay, the genderswappy is over, which means I get to give you something new to look forward to. Well, technically, two somethings.
See, homecoming weekend is going to be October 10. That's one thing. Unfortunately for the people of Fandom, that means October 11-12 will also be Soap Opera Weekend.
Now I know you all know how soap operas work, even if you don't watch them. The name of the game is Crack. (Its middle name is totally Danger.) Thanks to a little TV mishap, if you so choose, your characters will wake up on Saturday morning technically still themselves, but soap operaed up. For instance, Brooke will still know herself as Brooke, but if I decide she's going to be a drug-addicted supermodel who was adopted by the richest family like ever ala Emily Quartermaine on General Hospital, for the weekend that's all true. If I decide Lily's going to be sekritly married to three other guys on the island that she wasn't to yesterday, that can also be true. (She won't be, don't worry, Marshall.) They'll all think the changes are perfectly normal.
And since this is on homecoming weekend when everyone's around anyway, this plot is open to everyone, and it gives the opportunity for alumni to be affected while in Fandom. Just like the good ol' days!
TheRules Guidelines:
-Okay, this one's a rule. DO NOT decide anything for someone else's character without their permission. If Lily was going to be married to three guys, I'd have to get the okay from all those people. Be as cracky as you want, but keep those lines of communication open.
-You also have the chance to do things you wouldn't ordinarily be able to do in regular gameplay without a plot proposal. Which means if I wanted Buffy to be randomly pregnant and not know which of two guys is the father, or if I want Jaina killed in a horrible roof accident, I could do it. It just won't be permanent. On Monday, they'll wake up alive and well and completely normal. (I would appreciate if you drop a line to let the admins/me know if you want to kill someone in a mob war or be murdered or something, since that that's something that could get big and affect more than your run of the mill death would. If you have any doubts about whether you can or should do something, ask.)
-This is so totally not a rule, but I highly encourage y'all to mix it up. If you're thinking of being someone's long-lost evil twin, why not have it be to a character you haven't played with before rather than someone you see every day? For those of you wanting to expand your circles, this could be a really good opportunity to do so.
-Don't worry if someone else is using the same schtick. Soap operas aren't exactly original. In fact, if there aren't eight Alexis/Krystle-style catfights that end up in the lake, I'm going to be REALLY REALLY upset.
That's the basics. I'm also throwing down a comment below for brainstorming, should anyone have something they WANT to see that weekend that they don't automatically claim for themselves, or you want to find someone to be your new husband/wife/suspected babyparent/evil twin/supposedly-dead parent/Kelly to your Brenda.

Brainstorm!
Re: Brainstorm!
I could come up with more than that (she's been training as a ninja! they had twins who were given up at birth! Or not!), but, um, I don't wanna scare y'all with an overdose of crack. But anybody who wants a Shakespearean backstory for the weekend, please comment here or email me or I'll start begging people to do it.
The one restriction is that logistically, it probably has to be someone who came to Fandom after July 2007, unless you want to add to the crack by saying your character and Juliet-in-disguise are doubles and were swapped back then.

I'd also LOVE for someone to suddenly think a doll or something inanimate is alive and talks to them a la Tabitha on Passions.

So, there was this thing in Home and Away where there was this girl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tasha_Hunter) (the actress who
yay metawas the passenger in Shia LeBeuf's recent accedent, la random fun), that they implied was a mermaid when they first brought her in because she had amnesia, only spoke pig latin and was picked up on the beach. Or something.Anyway. Crack, amnesia, mermaids and pig latin!
