True. But there are times when I let him sit on my shelf and just give him a friendly pat now and again so he doesn't get lonely (clearly a risk :-)), and times when I am randomly rereading Anansi Boys and Death: The High Cost of Living and grumbling about where my other Death mini got to. This? One of the latter.

I always liked the Elenium and Tamuli better. I read the Bel/Mal cycle after reading Belgarath and Polgara, and couldn't get beyond Garion being a WHINY AND UNGRATEFUL PRAT.

Plus, I hate children protags.

I like the Elenium and the Tamuli, but the Bel/Mal are closer to my heart.

You're not crazy... but my most recent McDowell has been from Fallout 3. So my brain borks.
