With the fighty reserve, the magical reserve and the support services group... I'd love to see the next BDE be something that none of them could possibly prepare for. Just to throw a wrench in the works and show that no matter how prepared we think we are, the island/universe/whatever will throw us something unexpected.
So with all the cops we have on the island plus a few that might be show up pending application approval, I'm thinking we need a good old fashioned mystery to solve on the island. Once upon a time I toyed with the idea of an open mystery where anyone on the island could participate and solve though the logistics of it would kill my brain.
Invasion of the Timeslips: no one to 'fight', just a bunch of inconvenient drops into historical periods/places where you have to find your way to the edge to get out. Courtesy of Simon R. Green's Nightside.
Still trying to brainstorm specifics of a religious plot of some kind. I sent an email off to a few folks who have characters that would lend themselves to it. But I'd love to get more people involved and nail down some details.
My geeky little heart would swell with joy fit to bursting if we could have a "holy crap where did all these stereotypical DnD references come from" weekend. Like, for example: Gelatinous Cubes! Rocks falling (but no one dies, of course)! Angry gazebos! Et cetera.
I read that as "satanic brainstorming," which actually could apply to Raven. ;)
Anyway! At some point I'm going to want a volunteer to fall in love with Raven. Well, not exactly. She's going to crush on someone and unconsciously use her powers to make him fall in love with her. Of course, she'll feel dreadfully guilty when she realizes what she's done, and I'd prefer that whomever is involved not totally flip out about it and be more understanding since it wasn't on purpose. (Being upset is fine, just wouldn't want to ruin character relationships with this!) Having an SO to be involved is a bonus. :)
This is lifted right from canon, though it happened after Raven was purged of evil (and before she went evil again...what do you expect, it's a comic, and SHUT UP I do not have a type). She crushed on Dick Grayson/Nightwing/Robin (confusing romantic love and friendship love) and made him fall in love with her without realizing it. Starfire figured it out and was all "Hey, that's my man, knock it off," and she and Raven actually became closer friends because of it.
From this post (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/4046575.html#comments), I have an idea of an invasion of singing Tesla coils (search on Youtube), triggered when Jack (finally) convinces an adult-type-person to purchase the device for him and they turn it on.
Stuff you have that other people might use. Plottishly, anyway. Though I'm sure some folks would love to borrow your coffee maker if you're not using it.
I offer crazy demonic and immortal relatives to cause any kind of mayhem that could be fun and plotty. The specific list seen in canon (and I think I might be missing a couple) is here (http://cutsthestrings.livejournal.com/875.html#cutid1).
Also the Valley of the New Year, the Land of Never could always be interesting.
This is random, but Brennan's really good at picking up things about people from how they move, so if, like, you ever need someone to "just know" your character's trying hard to keep an injury from being spotted, she's your girl.
She's also great with skeletons but I doubt she'll get one on the island.
Oh, I guess I should throw this out while she's on the island. Veronica is a nosy little bitch. So if your character has a secret that you want revealed, we can probably work something out to have that happen.
