I am far too sleepy to come up with a witty poem to match TBQ's effort from last month, so I'll just pose the question again of where did that month go?

In the spirit of Soap Opera and AU weekends, I was thinking of proposing one slightly similar--a weekend where everyone got stuck in bad fanfic versions of themselves, complete with terrible spelling, implausible relationships, sudden understanding of American pop culture, etc., etc.

What say ye?

Something for a random event: Character trait flip flop day

Basically your favorite trait of your character flips to the complete opposite of what it should be. Chuck Bass is a nice-guy-prude-tee-totaler! Layla Miller is a complete dunce and knows nothing! Merlin's ears are wee and tiny!

I keep thinking on a 'time loop' idea a la Groundhog Day. This is one of those barely formed ideas (as evidenced by my lack of details) but my firs thought was characters being able to go back and relive a particularly vivid moment in their life through some form of Fandom magic. And they'd relive it over and over and over as if they were seeing it for the first time.

It'd be up to character to break the time loop and get themselves back to Fandom. That would, of course, leave it up to the player to decide how to break the time loop. As in how would the character have to play something out in order for things to be right, so to speak.

So, half formed idea but it's been percolating for a few days randomly.

Don't mind me, I've been daydreaming and coming up with these things. It's been a long day. Anyway.

EVIL ISLAND. Not what it sounds like, probably. Basically, most everyone knows the island is sentient in some way so what if that sentient personality got overtaken or was brainwashed into being something a little more evil and sinister?

Some of the things that could happen could be: the island breaks up with the Isle of Ikea and thus, causes relationship strife around the island, trees and plant life sort of wilt, it's constantly grey and rainy, people are more likely to be pissy and short rather than other emotions, characters that have a penchant for evil might explore that etc etc.

Again, half formed idea but I like the idea of messing about with the island as a sentient thing.

Something involving the parents of the future AU kids. Either our current Fandomites need them to rescue them, or the other way around?

A spin on AU Kids - the kids show up the same age as their parents (or close). So they are the future children of current characters, but they're teenagers or older.

I am serious as Anakin on Padme's birthday. Next convention: Hospitality Operative Con. Old Town Girls. That One Hooker Who Looks Like Julia Roberts And Married The J,GoB Clerk. Miss Mona. Lady Sally. Darla. Snoop Dogg. ...Well, pretty much every character Snoop Dogg has ever played. Eccentrica Gallumbits. Also exotic dancers, porn stars, etc.

A trade day. Kind of like the markets were, but every once in a while a post goes up in the park where characters bring things they own that they want to get rid of/sell/trade and then they go around looking at what everyone else has, offering to take it off their hands. It'd be a good opportunity to get talking to other characters you wouldn't normally talk to, while having some IC motivation to do it.

And another one! Everyone's evil twin shows up. Their AU/mirror universe self. Whether they meet their evil twins or the evil twins just start replacing characters and pretending they're the original in an effort to take over the island. Or pod people start taking over. Hell, maybe only the people who are being replaced know when they're being replaced and we (and our characters) who haven't been replaced yet don't know what's entirely going on. MYSTERY. Controlled mystery, but mystery all the same.

I still really like this. (Summary for people who don't feel like reading the link: Tara attempts a spell to vanish magical supplies during a Magic Reserves meeting, it feeds on her nervousness and goes awry, making the magical *people* invisible. Hijinks ensue until there's a counterspell.)

I basically need someone to hold me down and poke me with sharp sticks until I turn it into a coherent plot proposal.

This was supposed to happen last month, but got pushed back because of my illness and new job, but in a few weeks Claire & Elle will be needing some help doing a B&E in New York to steal some of Bob's records.

We'd love to have some volunteers to help.

I guess these are all random fandom weirdness events, but what about:
-80s slang day? Everyone start talking as if they were 80s valley girls, all grody to the max, and gag me with a spoon, etc etc
-maybe an uber formal day, when every one starts talking in a most precise manner, indeed, with never the slightest hint of slang or impropriety in the spoken word, or
-self-narration day: everyone narrates everything they're doing, she suggested, wondering if anyone would think it was a good idea or if they would simply think her mad, or
-reverse day - everyone speaks backwards (reversing text via an online engine, like this one: http://www.awayart.com/reversed-words.php) so that would be: "sdrawkcab skaeps enoyreve".

Drama llamas: llamas, wee or otherwise, who trot through town randomly, and anyone they come near suddenly starts having a major, soap opera style drama. Simply buying a coffee could turn into a near-operatic event!

DeskOTP - inanimate objects fall in the deepest, purest love with the people of fandom, and acquire the ability to move, so as to follow the objects of their affection.

Birds suddenly appear everytime you are near - anytime someone in Fandom gets near anyone else, a flock of cartoon birds suddenly appear, old school disney princess style, to sing and circle and generally make feathery pains of themselves.

Opposite day - in any given situation or conversation, people find themselves saying or doing the opposite of what they intended, and there's nothing they can do about it. Super frustrating!

PacMan - the corridors, hallways and roads of fandom become the pacman environment, complete with little dots, bigger power dots, fruit, PacMan and ghosts to avoid, with PacMan and the ghosts being NPC'd.

Random doors - the doors of Fandom have had enough of being manhandled all the time, and start opening into random places. So, someone opens a door to a common room, they find themselves in someone's room (if it's an open post).

Fandom Tourism - the island is invaded by tourists-classic cliche tourists- and a tour guide who treat everyone and everything, no matter how weird or bizzare, as if it was just another thing to be pointed at and photographed, tourists and tour guide to be NPC'd.

Rhyme time - people begin randomly speaking in rhymes, yes, yes all of the time.

Turns out Kyle's pretty good at talking people down, especially if they're traumatised, freaked out and scared. Doesn't matter if he's ever met them before or not. It's an interesting way to meet new people!
