Which would be where you go to hash out those half-formed ideas, work on stuff from the master spreadsheet, etc.

For those fun little canon details that do not in and of themselves a plot make, but could be the sekrit ingredient someone else's plot needs!

Because you just have to be that person who doesn't wanna conform to the above categories. Hmph.

We like being in the business of not ending the world.

This took longer to put up than expected; minor work explosion. By which I mean the supply of sugar packets exploded.

Fights crime. Rescues innocents. Has experience cooperating (to a certain extent) with law enforcement personnel. Available both for plots and for last-minute interference as needed. Contact by shining large flashlight on clouds. (Or the usual OOC methods; see userinfo for details.)

So, these ideas came about during the 'Mistress Mayhem' mini-plot, when I started thinking of other ways to give the Fandom police stuff to do. I don't play a Fandom cop, so I'm not even sure such ideas are wanted, but I haves them so I'll share them. They're also fairly vague and undefined, so feel sorry if they don't make a lot of sense. Also, I'm declaring them free to anyone who thinks they can do more with them, because other than the "hey, might this be cool..." I got nothing.

My first thought was a potential townies-only plot, where someone is stealing from the stores around town. Maybe a gang has set up shop in one of the abandoned warehouses?

(this one I thought should get a comment of its own.)

*I wasn't around for the last island expansion, so I freely admit I have no idea how it worked ICly or OOCly. However, I thought it might be interesting if Fandom suddenly developed a bad side of town. Either as a longer plot or possibly even permanent (though I know the latter would involve A LOT of prep. {And now I want to see an Alot of prep.}) I was thinking the Thenardiers' inn, Fagin running a pawnshop, Graverobber's dumpster, etc etc. Something kind of like a con for criminals and low-lives, except they've set up shop rather than come in to lead seminars.

I don't know if doing this as anything more than a slightly longer plot is feasible (or if its feasible even as a plot), but an idea I've been thinking about.

For slightly more well-developed ideas, I was thinking that a Noir Day might be fun--basically, everyone on the island becomes a stock character from an old noir folk or novel: private eye, leggy dame, mafioso, g-man, perhaps even a gadget-guy if we wanted to widen the lens a bit beyond Noir to include Bond-like characters and villains.

I'm not sure if it would run better as a all-inclusive things, like SOW, where no one knows this is odd, or more like OMWF, where everyone's perfectly normal and then suddenly they're in 50's style dresses and spouting Sam Spade-like dialogue.

I really like this idea. We have characters on the island who are buying drugs and doing other slightly shady stuff, so this would be a place that it could happen on-island. I'd love to have the chance for Robin to bust someone now and again, too. :)

If we do this, I think we should have a politically-savvy crime lord running the area. He could keep the heroes from getting too close to his "legitimate businesses" and get cases thrown out of court for improper procedure and generally keep the heroes from cleaning up the area. He could even let the heroes bust people sometimes to keep the competition out of the way.

Okay based on the spreadsheet I'm assuming this is a good place to toss out my Random Crack ideas, SO:

- A Very Smurf Day - all day, random words are replaced with "smurf." Or "pincushion." Or "slithy toves" or whatever else.

- Bad Hair Day - Your hair is conspiring against you. It talks back. It criticizes you. It's lazy and grumpy and doesn't like you any more.

- Trapdoors - for when you put your foot in your mouth, and wish the ground would open up beneath you and just swallow you whole -- congratulations! You've just fallen down a trapdoor! One that opens three feet over the duck pond, so you'll be wet, but hey, you're out of that conversation.

- Lost In Translation - all dialogue needs to be translated to two or three other languages and back again. Narrative is fine.

- This one was something

cantjossme and I came up with a while back for no apparent reason: Hell Freezes Over. And now that hell is frozen, people are doing exactly the kinds of things that would only happen if hell froze over ...

I also love the idea of some clueless people shopping there and marveling at the cheap prices!!! The store is dirty but they have some awesome sales!!!

Noir Day would be the best evar. And I would photoshop Fedoras onto entirely too many icons.

If they're meant as Random Events for the admins to throw at the game, we can add them to that sheet instead of the Plot Brainstorming one, if you like. The Random Events one isn't published, so stuff stays a surprise, and it's for things that don't need someone to grab and run with developing them into a plot proposal like the bigger plots.

Naaaaaaah! Half the random events on the Random Events Spreadsheet ^TM are collected from the brainstorming posts. We just kept them off the "Here's some plots, grab one if you want to run with it" sheet.

I...may have the random events spread out into categories. Language Effects. Physical Effects. Hallucinatory Effects. Weetiny moddable things. Socks. Gnomes. Yes, I'm quoting directly. There are multiple sock and gnome suggestions.

I need a "Dork" icon. Granted since this is Francine's account, they all are.

This is mostly still in the brain-poot stage, but I had "So long and thanks for all the fish" stuck in my head a while back, and it spawned a half-formed notion of a Hitchhiker's Guide inspired plot, starting with a certain bunch of sea creatures going kinda crazy one day, totally and entirely gone the next, and then it turning into an all-out race to save the world as we know it from being destroyed in the name of intergalactic development.

... It would involve islanders having to sort through a lot of red tape somewhere in outer space. With some really nasty, kind of smelly, large lumpy aliens who write really bad poetry.

And possibly the number 42. Which, as we all know, is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

I am really liking the idea of Fandom Tourists (http://community.livejournal.com/fhplotterywheel/144581.html?thread=4046277#t4046277). I'm picturing NPC tourists who run amuck taking pictures of gremlins and getting lost in the abandoned warehouse district.

The only thing better? Having the Griswolds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Lampoon%27s_Vacation) as the tourists!

weldedtomyspine & I were talking in IM about how all the costumed super hero types clearly need to have a club or something. And I really think this would be too awesome to not try! They could have meetings in costume and so preserve any secret identities, and, I dunno, maybe this should have been in one of the above threads but I'm pinging from my phone so it is too late to go back now!

There's a monster in the sewers. Maybe a giant Alligator, maybe something from a specicic movie. I was thinking something from Folklore like an Ogre or a Redcap.

Tim's canon started out with Domestic Sprites emerging in New York City and looking for people of the same ethnic background to set up shop with. The problem is New York is such a melting pot that some of the Sprites start fighting over people.

Anyone interested in doing something like this in Fandom?

Given Fred's current plans involve joining the Brotherhood in the next month or so, I would love for him to be part of that, if possible

Angelo is a highly trained rescue dog. She appears and either attacks the enemy or heals/revives one of your party. In-game, this is not something you control -- it just happens. Thanks, rescue dog!
