Character Abilities Tally!

Hey, guys!

For everybody's convenience in plotting, we try to keep a running (ifyoudon'tcountlastsemestercough) list of the various abilities possessed by FH characters. If you ever find yourself saying, "Hey, I need a magic user/archer/ninja/person who can watch 48 straight hours of Zac Efron movies and still remain sane," that list of powers is meant to be there for you to take a look at. (It's not mandatory; it just gives everybody a better reference when they're looking for people to help out with plots, and hey, might get your character roped into something fun!)

Here's how we deal with updating this baby!

  • All of the previous posts have been compiled into a spreadsheet that you can always head over to check; it's linked on the FH community info page.

  • This post only needs to be filled out for new characters, or if you have a correction/update for your older ones. If your stuff is listed over on the spreadsheet and nothing's changed, there's no need to fill out that category again. (And my poor aging eyes will love you because it's one less cell to update on a seven-page spreadsheet.)

  • The categories focus on "what can you do" instead of worrying about whether that's a magic or mutant or species-specific ability. So wacky powers are just broken into spellcasting, psionic powers, and superhuman physical attributes.

  • Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character (including those developed at FH) and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. This is for all character types - students, teachers, townies and alumni/expats - and covers everything, not just the wacky powers. We also appreciate yer fighting, research, weapons, support skills and Zefron-resistance.

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to do this!

[Wait for the OCD or NO AU KIDS FOR YOU. *keeps them all* OCD is up! Have at it.]

Ramona is susceptible to having 'video game universe' laws apply to her. For example, a gauge might appear above her head indicating her level of interest in a conversation, or a polyphonic ring -- like the one you might hear in a level-up or level-down in a classic video game -- might occur at certain events in her life. She can also do a little to bend physics in fights and stuff, within reason.

Being a Reaper, George can remove souls from their bodies. She is seriously only supposed to do this before someone's death -- another character accidentally starts a religion by doing it to someone who wasn't dying. So she wouldn't do it for a bet, or anything, but if there was a plot-specific reason someone needed their soul to be (briefly) outside of their body, George could manage it.

Hank has traveled all over the world having improbable adventures. He's been chased and/or kidnapped by restless natives, legendary monsters, and costumed supervillains for his entire life. Sure, he's died a few times, but there have also been lots of times when he should have died and didn't. He's pretty much acquired the usual protagonist's lucky breaks as a learned skill.

Also, he got an electric bass guitar a year ago, and is capable of playing it fairly badly.

Quinn is in exceptionally good shape. She isn't cheering in Fandom, but she works out a lot and could probably get back to competition form in a matter of days. Her squad does some gymnastics in canon, but I'd say she's more at the "look, ma, a handspring!" level than anything Olympic caliber.

She has a fair amount of innate leadership skills, though her style is more about bossing than about consensus-building.

Cindy has no magic of her own, but she can write home and ask Frau Totenkinder for something, though it'll cost her a lot. So, if someone needs a magical plot widget, Cindy might be able to work something out.

Also, she's been a spy on Bigby's payroll for 200+ years and no one in Fabletown's figured that out. So, serious spy skills, along with your average thiefy skill subsets, like lock-picking, escape from ropes, etc etc etc

Due to video game universe rules, Lucas can get stat boosts from foods and drinks. Also, he has a stunt team who can appear when called to fight his fights for him when he doesn't want to do the stunts himself.
