Angel plot: Because I'm that OCD

This is for all folks who volunteered to help out with the Angel plot. I figure this way we can organize things and people can start talking to each other about how things will work.

So far it looks like these are the definites:

1) Angel will get sick very late Friday night and be dragged to FTEC where he'll remain for the duration of this plotline. (This will probably last a week just to give everyone a chance to do something.)

2) Paige will unsuccessfully attempt to heal him either Saturday or Sunday

3) Giles will be the one to confirm/figure out that Angel's been hit with the Killer of the Dead poison

4) Folks over in the UK will try to do a research mission to find out more about the poison, possibly including a run-in with Andrew.

Beyond that we've got tons of fandoms and people to play with, so hopefully we can find something for everyone to do.

My current thought is that it'd probably be easier if we have a UK team and a Fandom team. So I'm going to make some OCD threads for anybody in the UK who wants to join in to talk with the others and co-ordinate, and same deal for those in Fandom.

In a worst case scenario we've got Giles with a possible avenue to Slayers who could all donate some blood to give Angel enough to heal him. My preference is for this to be a cross-fandom solution however, so let's keep that as a plan B. So UK folks? Maybe you're the ones who research the poison and start finding alt solutions, and maybe the Fandom folks are the ones who actually get the alt solution? (Doesn't have to be that, I'm just brainstorming.)

Also so far radio looks like the easiest deus ex machina to get the information out there to people who might not normally be in the loop about what's going on with Angel. I know some folks (like UK people) need to be kept in the dark about Angel being sick, so can you guys just not listen to the radio that day? Would that mess you up at all? Lemme know.

Now to make some OCD threads. Cause I'm just. That. Anal.

[ooc: OCD threads a-coming! Up like uppy things!]

Can't we use a simple NFB tag? Or is that too simple of a solution.

I've established that Giles listens (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/663391.html). But we need to figure out a way to make him to care enough to look into the situation. 'Cause he's all hostile because Jenny was brought back from the dead to baby-sit him. And he's never really gotten over the whole torture thing.

BTW, totally bowing before the OCD threads and separate post...

Jeez, use poorly referenced pronouns much?

Giles is all hostile becuase Jenny was brought back from the dead to baby-sit Angel. And Giles has never really gotten over the whole torture thing.

Still bowing before your mad organizational skillz.

Aaaaaaaand we have a winner. I'd recommend sending Veronica, though. She can sniff out a sympathetic adult at 100 yards and I don't see Logan or Callisto doing the importuning thing well at all, and it will most certainly be required. Yes, I shall be dragging hard-bitten, bitter, emotionally-torn Giles out of the mothballs for this one...

What if Cordy goes with her? Then Cordy can be all "oh yeah, GILES is here!" and V can work her headtilty magic

If Xander were staying home, I'd send him (how to motivate him into being especially persuasive would be an exercise I'm happy not to have to break my brain on - though he does have some deeply-hidden respect for this version of Angel), but he's off to England, alas.

Callisto can do the importuning thing, it's just that her idea of persistent pleading involves sharp pointy objects and burnination.

Yeah, but see, Jenny's perfectly glad to be dragged back from the dead. Unlike certain Slayers we could mention, she found eternal peace kind of boring.

Of course, Rupert would probably have to ask her about that first. But, hey, bookstore trip!

(I refer to him as Giles when I'm playing Janet, and Rupert when I'm playing Jenny. You know, sometimes I worry about me.)

Ah, but for Rupert to ask, he'd have to leap over his own assumptions and ask her. And we all know how stellar he is with the whole interpersonal communication thing.

And however happy she is to be back, it just deeply offends Giles's sense of order and balance. He'll buy her story on the surface, but deep down he'll still cuddle that grudge (against Angel) like his favorite vampyre tome.

Just so we can coordinate the whole watcher thing that is going on... Since we're planning on kidnapping Andrew and then finding a way to get into the watcher library to do research, can we assume that Giles would not get any assistance from the council on this matter?

Assume he wouldn't go to them. He's not entirely sure he wants to save Angel at all. And he certainly doesn't want the current Council, most of whom he's probably hand-picked and trained, distracted from their mission by Angel. You know, again.

Heh. Yes, Jenny's well familiar with how absolutely avoidant that Rupert can be. Just let her get a glimmer of what he thinks and she'll whap him upside the head and have a "chat" with him.

*pats poor Giles* He should be well familiar with the world being out of balance, shouldn't he? Though I can't blame him for carrying a grudge. Just let Jenny get an inkling that she wasn't found dead on the landing at Sunnydale High...
