Character Abilities Tally

Guess who gets to steal another post from Erin?

(Hint: It's me)

In an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations and so on. This is mandatory for all characters, and we would appreciate it ASAP though there is no specific deadline.

Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. Temporary powers for specific plots do not need to be noted now.

Please be as thorough as possible, as this will help everyone out with plots and knowing who can fill what roles.

I'm not comfortable calling it a mutation, because canon doesn't specify why it happens, so I'll put it here: Jill turns into a guy for roughly four days a month.

Hinata's fighting style relies heavily on hand-to-hand and she's middling effective at it. Her strikes are soft and fluid, but she can push chakra out through her hands and into her opponents circulatory/nervous system rupturing the targeted blood vessels and organs.

In essence, if she hits someone in the chest? They're going down and in a lot of pain.

Dōjima's a pretty good shot, and she's got her Walther here in the weapons locker. She practices a few times a week, too, so she just keeps improving.

Steve is a supersoldier. His strength, agility, durability, and speed are all at the peak of human possibility. So he's really tough and it's really hard to bring him down. He also handwavily trains pretty much constantly to maintain himself in the best possible shape he can be in.

Hinata, as a Hyuuga possesses the Byakugan. It's, literally, her eyes. By concentrating she can make the veins around her eyes bulge out and this gains her several different skills:

-- she can see through things. Walls, trees, rock, even people.

-- her scope of vision becomes nearly 360 degrees, but for a small blind spot that begins right between her shoulder blades and expands outwards from there.

In how her family rates these things, she's middling-fair. Fairly good, but she just doesn't match up to the heavy hitters in her family and her vision doesn't have the range or strength that theirs does.

Hinata's skilled at tracking. If something needs to be trailed, she could probably do it.

Éowyn is very skilled with a sword, especially if the fighting involves stabbing creatures in the face.

Thanks to using chakra - a combination of spirit energy and physical energy - Hinata can do a fair bit. She can walk on water and up walls - though this exhausts her if she does it for too long (think, upwards of forty minutes straight). She can do simple illusions to change what she looks like (Henge no Jutsu) and make replicas of herself (Bunshin no Jutsu) but these have no substance and you can walk right through them. Kawarimi no Jutsu is another - it's a basic replacement technique. If someone throws something at her Hinata would be able to quickly replace herself with, say, a log and the log would get hit instead.

She can also use chakra to boost her speed/strength and to add extra power to her weapons so that they fly faster and hit harder.

Z is familiar with firearms, but her aim is kind of fail. The weapon she has the most experience with and the highest degree of familiarity with is an SPD-issue energy blaster-type sidearm, which she now carries pretty much full time.

Standard Jedi package: telekinesis, empathy, mindtricks, and the occasional vision.

His telekinesis needs a lot of work, his empathy is decent, he has a half-way decent amount of skill with mindtricks, and he can't induce visions, he has to wait until the Force has something it wants to show him.

Jenny is familiar with and proficient with most Earth-based firearms, but they wouldn't be her first choice of offense.

Steve is familiar with and proficient with firearms, particularly army issue, but he doesn't use them often. Or ever.

What he DOES use is his really awesome shield, made from a vibranium alloy, which means it is supertough and superhard and when he chucks it at the bad guys' heads they go down for the count. His actual shield is currently in possession of Bucky Barnes; the one he's using is on loan from Tony Stark and probably actually belongs to some poor guy who's still stuck in the ice.

Viki is a teleportation magician. She's got very few limitations on this for how many people she can move at the same time, or how far. Most of her issues with it come from sneezing and winding up in the wrong time.

She'll also randomly wind up, by accident, somewhere she didn't mean to go.

And, of course, she uses teleportation to drop things on enemies heads.

...pretty much, if it's got to do with teleportation? Viki can do it.

Viki can use staffs and wands (not, like, Harry Potter wands though) with a fair bit of skill.

She's just weak as a wet noodle and doesn't do much damage. Yeah.

Hahahahaha. Viki knows a few basic skills, but they're utterly useless as she completely lacks any sort of strength to make them effective.

Zero knows her way around a gun well enough to not shoot herself with one. She's pretty good with blunt objects; her melee weapon of choice since high school is a croquet mallet.

Johnny's primary power is the ability to envelop his entire body in fire without harm to himself, in which form he is able to fly and to generate powerful streams and/or balls of fire. He can also manipulate his flame into any shape. Even when not engulfed in flame himself, he has the ability to control any fire within his immediate range of vision, causing it to increase or decrease in intensity or to move in a pattern directed by his thoughts. He is also able to absorb fire into his body with no detrimental effects.

He is able to fly in excess of the speed of sound. The plasma field immediately surrounding his body is sufficiently hot to vaporize projectiles that approach him, including but not limited to bullets. He does not generally extend this flame beyond a few inches from his skin, so as not to ignite objects (or persons) in proximity to him. Johnny refers to his maximum flame output as his "Nova Flame," which is released omni-directionally and can reach 1,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit. He can also direct beams of "Nova Heat" as an offensive weapon for very brief periods of time before his energy reserves give out. Johnny has a high degree of control over his powers. He can hold a person while in his flame form without the person feeling the slightest bit of heat.

Northstar was made a ninja during his stint as an evil zombie. Despite his recent return to the world of the living, he has retained a great deal of his martial arts training, making him an accomplished fighter.

And even if he wasn't a couple of dozen punches at superspeed have been shown to rattle almost anybody's cage, even an 'invulnerable' mutant. :D

Zero is a brawler, and will pull hair, bite, and kick someone in the balls to win. There's not a lot of finesse there but she fights dirty, and she fights to win.
