YES PLEASE. There can be icon switcheroos and shinies and -- OH. Wasn't there some old-school version where people semi-body-swapped? I.e. they thought they body-swapped but didn't, so they were playing a version of each other? SOMEONE WHO IS NOT ME HELP?

That's actually another thing I was thinking -- what if there was a day when, like, gremlins went nuts and just bit people all over the place to act like these sort of exaggerated versions of each other? It'd be super chaotic and obviously something to organize with other players OOCly on an individual basis, but possibly really fun?

I ran that way back when! I'm impressed you remember because, seriously, we're talking spring or summer 2006, here.

Someone more organized than me could no doubt find the info post, but basically it's exactly what you said -- people woke up thinking they were each other, but they weren't.

Oh, it was before my time, I know that! But it was -- I think maybe Jude swapped with Rory? So Rory said something to Rikku (his then-GF) like "Oh! I know Jude! I thought I was him, once!"

It sounded like a blast. We should absolutely do it again zomg.

The biggest problem I ran into was that I randomly assigned who would swap with who, and a few players found that difficult because they didn't know much about the character they were supposed to "be."

We didn't have problems with unkind parody, but it is a potential risk.

This isn't a "don't do this," by the way -- big parts of it WERE loads of fun. Just stuff for whoever feels like taking it on to consider. And I will drag out the organizing posts tonight if anyone's still interested.

It'd be great to get a chance to look at the organizing posts, yeah! I wonder if it might not help to let people choose who to switch with on an OOC basis? Or failing that, to make it like roommates, where they can either choose their own or ping in to get RNG'd. The possibility for awkward is still there, but at least there's the option of specifically choosing a character to swap with for comfort or plotty purposes.

This plot was waaay before my time, but I went poking around the comm and lo, the info post for the pseudo-mindswap plot is here! (With minor addendum here.)

Also I'd be in favour of people OOCly figuring out who thinks they're who, as I would personally find that most comfortable.

... And obviously I'm in favour of this plot in general. :D
