Character Ability Tally!! (because the memes weren't eating your afternoon enough)

WATCH ME SHAMELESSLY USE THE SAME POST AGAIN.

(I wrote it. I'm allowed to cannibalize it. Hush.)

In an effort to keep things a little more organized for plottishness and so on, we're going to ask a quick favor of you all.

Could you please reply to each appropriate comment below, and let us know what kind of powers/abilities/etc your character possesses? This is for all characters - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything including especially good researching/support skills, magic, skill with weaponry, mutations and so on. This is mandatory for all characters, and we would appreciate it ASAP though there is no specific deadline.

Anything that is a canon¹ power or ability of your character and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. Temporary powers for specific plots do not need to be noted now.

Please be as thorough as possible, as this will help everyone out with plots and knowing who can fill what roles.

¹ In this instance, "canon" does refer to FH canon as well. If your character at this time has honed their fighting skills or anything like that, please do make sure to note that. For guidelines on characters picking up abilities, please see this post.

Sam has psychic premonitions, in the form of nightmares (while he's asleep) and visions (while he's awake). He sees things exactly as they're going to happen, usually from an outsider point-of-view, like he's watching it from a point of non-involvement. The general timeline is that nightmares are things that will happen within a few days, and visions are things that will happen within a few hours/that day at the most.

Stake, axe, sword (or anything large and sharp and/or bashy): pretty good.

Handguns or rifles: knows how to use them, but tends not to.

Cross and compound bows: excellent experience-wise, but he has sighting issues due to the loss of an eye. He's also a mean shot with a wrecking ball, and can presumably use most construction/carpentry tools as a weapon if needed.

The eye: Xander's left side is a blindspot for attacks from that direction, though he knows this and compensates relatively well for it. Lack of depth perception doesn't actually affect his aim, just his judgement of how close or far something is, so a moving target heading towards or away from him would be a lot harder to hit (or block/catch) now.

Sam can pick locks, forge signatures for fake IDs and credit cards, and can probably come up with a fake name in about the same time as it would take him to recall his real one.

G'Kar is a trained diplomat/Ambassador, having served as Narn Ambassador to the League of Non-Alligned Worlds.

Later, he was chosen to sit on the Council for the newly formed Interstellar Alliance.

He is adept at speech writing and public speaking. He wrote a book that made him a religious icon among his own people (hence why he ~~ran off~~ went to explore the universe).

An excellent politician, he is.

Xander can defend himself and others pretty well with his fists or a stake, after years working beside Slayers. He's got no formal training beyond whatever he still remembers from his much-faded soldier-memories from a spell about ten years ago, but on the other hand he's got ten years of informal but frequent experience at it.

He's also handicapped by lack of peripheral vision on his left side, and problems judging depth/distance with stuff that's tossed at him or moving towards/away at close-quarters. As a random example, if he dropped a stake and needed to grab it from the ground again quickly, he might be in trouble, and when throwing a punch, he might hit either too hard, or not hard enough if whatever he's aiming for is further away than he thinks it is.

Possibly kind of gross, but since it's canon... he can make himself vomit when he wants. And apparently, the result is quite foul and makes others noxious.

Well, Narns do have the stomach for fresh spoo. ;)

And he enjoys being sarcastic and using it to get on other people's nerves. HI LONDO!

Team: Xander's a lieutenant-type: he's very good at following orders (but will call bullshit if they sound crazy), but also has a lot of experience leading a smaller group/team on specific assignments.

Research: He's got a lot of experience with research on spells and demons, though it's not his favorite activity and he's not a genius at it. He knows how to use the internet at about the level of your average fangeek, thanks to FH, and is a pretty big lint-trap for pop culture information, especially fantasy/SF/comic-books, and adventure movies.

Languages: After doing the world-traveler thing for 3 years he can probably ask which way to the bathroom in a bunch of languages, not all of them human, but it's pretty much baby-talk level. He also took French at Sunnydale High and Creature Languages at FH; he still remembers at least some Rat and Spider. He can read Latin aloud but tends to be a danger to self and others when doing so.

Medical: A crapload of basic first aid.

Ghanima is Pre-Born. She awoke to full, adult consciousness before birth, receiving the genetic memories of both her male and female ancestors. This means she's got a LOT of tau awarenesses in her head, basically going all the way back to the dawn of Humanity. Yes, they are genetic memory-imprints of real people. Yes, they're real. No, she's not crazy when she's muttering under her breath to people you can't see. What they know, she knows, be it combat or history.

Being Pre-Born also means she also has the Atreides Curse lingering at the fringes of her mind; Ghanima has the barest bit of prescience. It manifests as instinct and flashes of intuition, or through playing with the Dune tarot. If she thinks something is a bad idea? STOP. She's probably having a pre-cognitive moment.

Last, but far from least, anything a Bene Gesserit can do, Ghanima can do too. This involves using the Voice to control people, simulflow multi-tasking, limited teleportation via the Weirding Way, and Truthsaying (when in-tandum with the tau of Mohiam).

Xander's a skilled carpenter/construction worker, and can build or repair objects and structures damaged during a fight, make practice dummies, impromptu weapons, storage-cases, etc. He's proficient with hand and power tools as well as large-scale construction equipment, and can read and interpret blueprints/building plans.

Ghanima is fluent in multiple languages, thanks to the people in her head. So far, Ancient Greek, Sumerian, Old Norse, Latin, Arabic, Romani, Gaelic, and French are the ones that have been stated in either book or FH canon, but odds are she knows more.

She also speaks fluent Galach, 'Standard' (English), Chakobsa (Fremen), and ASL, all from her own experiences.

Tony's smart and good with mechanics/computers!

Also... a giant douche and not afraid to call you stupid and wander off. Yes, I count that as a skill.

Teddy is half Kree and half Skrull. He's a shape shifter to the point where his body shifts automatically to avoid extreme injury.

Also? Really strong. I think he might be physically the strongest person on the island right now.

Temari is a jounin ninja which is Kishimoto for... ZOMGBADASS fighter.

Fast and strong because of this maaaagical thing called chakra

Temari is familiar with tessan, poisons, knives, ninja stars....

Anything but modern tech for weapons.

Lola can run (as one might guess, from the title of her movie). It's nothing magical or anything, and she's certainly not what most would call an athelete, but if she can make it across town in 20 minutes to save her boyfriend canonically, she can sure as hell sprint across the island to pick up something/get to your character in a quick amount of time.

She's also fluent in German (natch) and probably about intermediate to advanced in with French.

Name a weapon and Deadpool can probably use it.

Lola's scream can shatter glass. This happens several times in canon. It can also maybe probably alter the course of probability (this happens once in canon, and is just vague enough that it might be coincidence).

So, if you need some glass broken, and don't mind a little tintinitus, Lola's your girl.

Mmmm, he's considered one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in Marvel. But then, everyone is. So...

When some DNA from Wolverine and cancer love each other VERY much, they get a healing factor like Deadpool's.

Enhanced speed and strength to a level just above that of a human in peak physical condition. (Like Captain America)

I wasn't sure whether to dump this in support skills or misc, so it goes here.

Igor can fix anyone. Unless their head's been cut off or they've bled out, he can put them back together. He will cheerfully scavenge body parts from the newly dead if needed, and there are no compatibility or rejection issues with an Igor. He is also a deft plastic surgeon.

He also messes round with biological experimentation, so could whip up, say, a cockamouse overnight.

The only other thing apart from the ability and inclination to constantly add new parts to himself is a finely honed sense for when everything's about to go to hell.

Wendy's an excellent shot, based in no small part by numerous hours playing ultra-violent video games (oh, how I love my canon) and honed further by her Middle-training. The main gun-type weapon she uses is a a blaster/laser gun referred to in canon as an atomic de-moleculizer, but she's also used whatever's handy including crossbows, and a deck-mounted harpoon cannon.

She's also quite skilled with the nearest-large-blunt-object school of weaponry. Poor Noser's guitar.

Hurley is really, really good at Ping Pong. Like, near professional prowess.

Altra can speak mind to mind with anyone he wants, line of sight not necessary.
