Magic Box Week

This is to announce a very low-key, completely voluntary event that will be taking place February 19-24. The purpose is simply to have a chance for some non-angsty, non-emo interaction, but in a way that won't have a major impact on what's going on in the game. So here's the plan:

On next Monday morning (February 19), about half a dozen characters (pre-arranged volunteers) will receive a wrapped package at their place of residence. Opening the package will reveal two items -- a small food-type treat and a small beverage-type treat (think cookies and cocoa) -- and a note. The note will instruct the recipient to share the contents with a friend and then rewrap the box and pass it along to someone they don't know (or don't know very well).

When the box is rewrapped and passed on, it will magically refill itself, so that the next recipient, upon opening it, will find the same thing. The contents will be moddable, so if the recipient is a chocolates and coffee kind of person, that's what they get. But the next person might find sushi and sake. It's entirely up to what the character will enjoy receiving as a surprise treat. The only stipulations will be that they're edible, and are something that can be shared.

Example: A package shows up at Miley's dorm room. She opens it and discovers her favorite snack, and the note telling her to share the snack and then pass along the box. Miley shares the snack with her roommate, and then wraps the box back up and heads upstairs to find someone she doesn't know. On her way, she encounters Hamlet, whom she's never met. She introduces herself, passes off the box to him, and the cycle begins all over with Hamlet.

The boxes will last for a week, giving people plenty of time to share and pass them along, and then at the end of the day on Saturday (February 24) they will simply disappear. The idea is two-fold: to brighten the recipient's day in a very low-key way, and to give people the opportunity to have a bit of interaction with someone new (by passing along the box). Participation would be entirely voluntary, and the recipients are requested to get OOC permission before approaching a character to pass along the gift.

There will be are OCD threads up in a minute. No signing up is necessary, but please indicate if you know you definitely do not want to participate so that people will know not to approach your characters. And I'll need volunteers to kick things off, so the first six people to tag into the volunteer thread will be the originating recipients.
