We interrupt your anniversary festivities to bring you some fun for next weekend! That's right, fall's Three Minute Dates will take place Saturday, September 13!

At this stage in the game the number of rounds will depend entirely on the number of people who sign up. The more players sign up, the more variety in your dates! If you want to make sure you're not fake dating the same player a lot, convince your friends to sign up to widen the pool. This is open to anyone who's on island that weekend. Do you conveniently have an alumni who might show up for the weekend and get roped in? GOOD. Would your character absolutely not do this and be nowhere near Caritas on purpose? I guess it's time to get kidnapped by some Fandom wildlife to hang out at a bar for up to fifteen or so minutes, or something! Does your character not want a date but just wants to talk to people? Perfect! Are you in a committed, loving relationship? DON'T CARE! In fact you probably should meet friends outside of it to keep it healthy!

IMPORTANT: if for whatever reason you don't think your character would sign up for 3MD during pollen, the event will be ICly announced this week with (handwavily if you need it) signups through the week. Just in case you need them to innocently jot their name down before knowing what's happening.

If you think your signed-up character would try not to show up because of pollen, or they'd be too busy banging someone, Kitty WILL send out messages reminding people of their commitment, but ONLY if you need her to. Also I'll give permission for anyone to mod Tino into getting them to the bar however you want, again, only if needed.

Hello all! It's February. Valentine's Day is coming up. Yow what that means! It's Three Minute Dates time! Love or at least interaction is in the air! On Saturday, February 12, your characters will get to play out series of dates with other characters. Whether you want a hookup or just want to thread with some new people, it's a good time.

Signups for 3MD this Saturday are due in by Thursday at midnight PST. Again, students needed, and if you just meant to sign up and didn't get around to it yet, your time is limited!

As a reminder, 3 Minute Date signups end at midnight tomorrow, at which point I drink copiously while screaming at spreadsheets and the RNG before crying at Nick.

It's a new semester, and you know what that means! Or maybe you don't because we got out of the actual habit of it for a while! On Saturday, September 12, it's Three Minute Dates time!! Want interaction? Want to meet new characters, or spend some more time with ones you already know? Here is your chance! Sign up in this post and you'll ICly be put on the list to experience a series of up to five dates, be it romantic, platonic, or ending in the lake!

The traditional rules:

*3 Minutes = 10 pings, up to 5 from each character. You can of course take a ping or two to wrap things up, but please be efficient. If you're going to need more time with the new love of your life (or of the night), there will be a regular Caritas post set after 3MD.

*3MD is open to both adults and teenagers. Teachers and students will never be paired together, but students and townies might be, provided they are close enough in age to not be too weird and possibly illegal, or I can't avoid it for some reason. If you've got a 2020 graduate you want to be paired with students, just say the word.

*An attempt to pair characters up by sexual preference will be made. That said, it all depends on signups and it's more likely that you'll end up with a mix of genders that you/your character may not have signed up for.

*You can sign up with as many on-island characters as you want, but please keep in mind that each one commits you to up to 5 threads with people in all sorts of time zones with all kinds of schedules. Try not to sign up more than you can reasonably handle. That way everyone can have a chance to complete all of their dates.

*The post will go up Friday evening, the 11th, and will be available for slowplay through the weekend. The bulk of the playing should take place on Saturday, but if you need to wrap things up on Sunday, that's fine. If you sign up and later find out that you won't be around at all on September 12, PLEASE let me know to take your characters off the list, especially if you've signed up with multiple characters. And if you know you won't be around at all that day, please don't sign up. It never feels good when somebody has a bunch of threads without any interaction.

The non-traditional rules:

*An old twist is returning with this one. Unbeknownst to our intrepid bar manager (who will be fixing the problem immediately afterwards), there will be a little bit of ~love potion~ in the HVAC system in the lounge (and only the lounge) that will hit your character in one of your rounds to make you fall madly in love with your date for ten pings. Once the date is over and you move, thus ending the potion's spell, it's up to you to figure out what happens. Did that love potion awaken actual feelings? Is it just embarrassing that you flirted that hard? Is it immediately forgotten because you got another whiff on your next date?

I'll give each round a 1/5 chance of getting whammied, so if the RNG is weirdly in your favor, you could get prompted a few times. You can also choose to have your character influenced for any date you pick.

Especially if you're a student! If you have a student and will be around this weekend, I have any number of ways to get your character into the bar. I'd see it as a challenge, actually.
