Newbie Shuttle!

It's that time again! Who wants to post and who wants to drive the newbie shuttle?

[Copy-pasta:] Our local airport (BWI) has a Portalocity (interdimensional travel service) port and lounge. Students can arrive by either plane or portal and gather in the lounge until a bus from Fandom shows up to take them to the island. This is completely optional; your new characters are still welcome to arrive on the island in any manner you choose.

What we need: One new student character to put up the post and OCD, and at least one teacher or adult to drive the bus and greet the students. Traumatizing them before they reach the island is optional. The post should be made Friday night sometime between 4pm-6pm Eastern, but be set for Saturday morning (before the picnic).

Newly arriving students are welcome to join the post and get to know a few of their fellow newbies before actually getting to the island. New teachers are welcome to grab a lift as well. Check out the links above if you want to read previous newbie shuttle posts.

Traumatizing them before they reach the island is optional.

The newbie shuttle post worked out well last time, IMO. Interested in doing it again?

If so, we'll need a newbie character to post it (I don't have one this time around) and an adult/teacher to drive. Volunteers?

Newbie arrival - Airport Shuttle

So you know when you go to some convention or other event and the first people you meet are the other attendees standing around waiting for transport to the hotel or whatnot?

Would any of the other newbies be interested in having an airport shuttle post before the big picnic? My theory (and this has been okayed by the admins) is that there's a Portalocity portal at the local airport. So no matter where or when you're arriving from, you could go through the portal and end up in a waiting area with the rest of the students. (And hope your luggage doesn't end up in Narnia or something.)

Then a bus or a couple of vans from the school would arrive and the students could chat amongst themselves before being thrust into the great post o' interaction that is the newbie picnic.

If any of the teachers are interested in driving the shuttle or being there to shepherd the students, please let us know! It can always be a *handwavy* NPC driver if no one's available.
