Okay, now that we have an idea of the sorts of numbers we're dealing with, it's time to outline in more detail what's going to be happening for this BDE. A list of victims will go up in the next post, and we'll be asking you to make some choices as well as nominate for groups. There will also be a further post on the safehouses, with more details, and specifics about how this is all going to work from an organisational/posting standpoint.

The Blinkers and Teleporters )

That's great, but what about all the dead/old victims? )

…what? )

Questions/comments are so very welcome, and there are more posts to follow in a minute!

And so I learn a valuable lesson about jumping the gun, and not catching up on things before I post.

Many, many apologies - I failed to note that the signups for various groups close at midnight tonight, and so jumped the gun rather spectularly.

Look for the same post tomorrow, only with a revised victim list, as the latest to sign up will be incorporated and the whole lot RNGd again.

Again, my apologies for the confusion.

(I've left comments disabled because I can't bear to delete all that OCD, but feel free to email me and poke me with sticks!)

Thursday is Mutant Babel Fish Day.

Babel Fish are from the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Babel Fish is also a translation program of iffy results.

You can see where I'm going here, can't you?

Swarms of invisible mutant Babel Fish have made their way to Fandom. They will randomly swim into people's ears and - instead of making them able to understand everyone - turn their perfectly intelligible words into gibberish. Then, just as randomly, they'll swim out again.

You can make it up, or, for greater authenticity, use the Babel Fish translator to translate speech into another language, and then translate it back into English.

For example: Cut for English to Dutch to English version of the above, courtesy of Babel Fish. )
